One more Sneak Peak and I think I will be almost done with the kitchen Redo!!!!! I hope so anyway.
Life keeps interrupting my progress in there!!!!! Hopefully this week I will finish it all and have the reveal. I am really loving the way it is coming out and so far no money spent except for 1 can of paint and a early surprise gift from the hubby for valentines day!!!!!
|
I was playing ring around the chandeliers in my kitchen redo. I moved one chandelier from the living room into the kitchen and then the other one to the far right is an early valentines gift from my husband. No diamonds needed on Valentines day for this girl just give me pretty white chandy with crystals and bling and I am a happy girl!!!!! |
|
I took old picture frames I had from the guest bedroom and used them to frame out the ceiling where I hung the chandeliers to give some character to the space. |
|
This space above the cabinets is where my husband did some magic with old pieces of scrap he had. He took some old crown pieces and an old closet door and framed out the spaces above the pantry door and above my refrigerator. It was the same crown we used when we originally did the kitchen redo a few years ago so the crown matched perfectly. |
|
I think it filled the space in nicely. |
|
Well that is a sneak at the new lights and you can see the paint color. It looks white on white but really it takes on different colors through out the day. In the morning when the light comes in the room it is white and by afternoon it looks more cream/ivory and then at night a hint of gray.
Not sure what to call my new design. Kind of a little nordic, a little cottage and little white french farmhouse. I am excited to start decorating and putting things back into the kitchen. Hope you are having a great week end. Kris :) |
Ooooooh, I love and adore the frame around the chandelier!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous so far Kris, those frames were genius! What are the names of your paint colors? I'm looking for a soft white, there are so many different whites it's hard to choose. I know that whatever you are dong it's going to be unique and fabulous, hurry hurry so we can see lol!

Love your valentine gift...so pretty!! Hubby does beautiful work- so professional. I took down the chandy over my kitchen table Friday. I really hated it so when hubby came home from work I was hoping he wouldn't notice. I just got the look..you know like here she goes again but he was worried too because now I'm not afraid of the electrical stuff!lol I know this reveal is going to be fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great present!! The room looks beautiful already!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to put a couple of chandeliers in my kitchen, Kris! I could definitely use the light in there and the recessed lighting does nothing {for me or the room!}. A great gift from your hubby! He did a great job. I love how that looks. It's all looking great and I'm looking forward to the full reveal.
ReplyDeleteKris I LOVED seeing the little peeks at what you've been up too! Love the new chandy and love the decorative trim and molding the hubby added to the top of your cabinets...looks beautiful!!

Love those chandeliers and very bright kitchen. Will you come redo my kitchen someday....it's still living in the 70's (uge) Really needs help. But first we have to get our ceiling fixed as the roof leaks. Have a great weekend!! Looking forward to the revealing of the finished product :)
ReplyDeleteThat's my kind of Valentine's gift! Your hubby is a very talented carpenter to create that custom look from a closet door. Lucky you!!
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty chandelier for your Valentine's early gift and the other one is gorgeous too. Looking wonderful. I can't say enough about loving nuanced colors. Reflective and ever changing with light and shadows. Your husband with his carpenter skills rocks! Oh Kris the reveal is gonna be exciting!!!
XX,
Vera
LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteHow clever to use the frames to "frame" the chandy.
Life does get in the way. I have been working on my creative space since January 4 and it is still not finished. I hope to finish up tomorrow. Although, like everything else in our house, it will never be finished.
This is going to be beautiful, Kris...love your wonderful chandeliers! I am at the end of a redecorating in my kitchen, too...I'll be so glad to get it done!
ReplyDeleteOh, it's fabulous Kris! I especially love the frames around the chandy! I have wanted to do something like that around mine over the kitchen table. Maybe when it comes times to repaint. Hubby did a fab job on the moldings!

Kris I can't wait to see the reveal - lov'n those chandeliers! What a great idea to finish the bulkhead above the cabinets. We simply painted between the cabinets and crown but I'm lov'n this idea. Hmmmm, you've inspired me to go hunting at our ReStore shops to find some old cabinet doors!!! Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteMarie@TheInteriorFrugalista
Fabulous idea, the picture frame on the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I would always say no to the diamonds. Much rather have chandeliers, too.
Everything looks perfect. Do you know the name of the colour of your paint? We will be re-painting our LR/DR. I know I want white, but which one? There are so many to choose from.
As always, your post has brightened my day. Thank you so much.
*Smiles*
