Chair redo into ottoman

Good Morning.  Hope your week end is going great.

I am starting on the redo in my living room and one of the items I am doing is repurposing two dining room chairs into an ottoman.

Remember these Mr. and Mrs. dining room chairs I got awhile back.  I loved them but they just were not fitting into my dining room decor.

Remember the great chippy legs on these chairs.  That is what drew me to them in the first place.

Well..........
I took the backs off the chairs and hooked the lower seats together to make this part of the new ottoman.  I love when I can repurpose things and give them a new life.

I still wanted some of the chippy legs to show through.  I also had Terry cut me a piece of mdf wood to make the top of the ottoman flat under the slipcover.

Just added a little Easter/Spring vignette to the ottoman this morning.

There you have it a new ottoman for the living room made with repurposing the chairs.
I have begun the redo of the living room and hope to have more to show you soon.  As you can see in the background I did some paint treatments to my white armoire and I found another old door I did a paint treatment on.   I am adding back in more of the cream to the grey and white.
Have a great start to the new week.
Kris

  13. Oh, my!

You are doing some amazing changes - and for no cost.

I love the chairs, but you have made them work so well as an ottoman.

If the snow doesn't melt and let you work in the garden, you will have the entire house redone.

  18. Kris,
Turned out very sweet. Love to repurpose and you always have such excellent ideas. But... I was thinking ... The oval backs of the chairs have great possibility if the upholstery was removed and the attached seat post cut off, you could have a couple of framed items. Either chalkboard, mirror or bulletin board.
Your Spring/bunny vignette is adorable! Love the trio of bunnies.
    Happy Sunday,
    XO,
    Vera
