Hello sweet friends.
Do you do Random Acts of Kindness. Maybe pay for the person's order behind you in the drive through line, do things for neighbors and friends when they do not expect it. Do you give to your favorite charities throughout the year and especially at the holidays.
I have always been one to do random acts of kindness whenever possible. It gives me such joy to help others especially those in need.
Sometimes it is just a kind word or a small deed or larger help that is needed to make someone's day. I love to do things when someone least expects it.
I have a friend that is truly an angel in God's care here on earth. She has a kind and caring heart like no one I know. She asked me if I would like to help out on one of her many acts of kindness that she does through her church community.
We have a county PADS organization that helps those in need. It is a christian service and one of the areas they concentrate on is their Women's shelter.
This year they are doing beautiful purses with all kinds of things put into the purses that women in the shelters might need. Things like soap, socks, womens products, protein bars and gift cards. Then these purses are gifted to each of the women in the shelter.
Here are the three purses I did with my daughters Jen and Kim.
After I loaded each bag down with all the things I bought I tied them off in clear cello bags and ribbon. |
Here is my mantel all done up for Christmas. |
I wanted my signature white with some greens and of course candles. I love all the candles lite especially at night. |
There you have it. My Christmas mantel. Of course I am tweaking and moving things constantly lol! For now I am liking this look. Happy Decorating. I am hoping to get motivated to start some baking this week. I will have my tree to show you next. Hugs, Kris Parties: Let's add Sprinkles Keep in Touch |
What a wonderful thing to do for the women in need! Your mantel is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteKris, you are so kind to help out your friend who needed you. You are going to make those people so happy when they see and open up the bags filled up with useful items! You are so kind and thoughtful with your acts of kindness. I like the way you decorated the mantle and I know the Christmas tree will be just as beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI do RAK all year round. I love the purses filled with needed items for the ladies at the shelter. A friend of mine did that last year for a women's shelter in Lake Co and I joined in on that. Fun to do and gives you a boost in spirit knowing you helped someone in need.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that your mom's angel is now in your living room right by your fireplace. She looks right at home there.
Hi Kris,
ReplyDeleteI always love your random acts of kindness ideas.
We gifted our ladies at our bank some coffee gift cards the week of Thanksgiving. They have been so helpful during this pandemic. With Sam being deployed they helped me with his account.
I love your mom's angel. She looks perfect by the fireplace.
Lots of love to you,
Carla

That mantel looks so pretty, especially with the candles lit. Terry did a good job. Her crown is pretty as is, but if you want something else, even a pretty napkin ring might be just the thing you're looking for.

ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding us that, as difficult as the pandemic has been, there are many who are dealing with more tragic situations.

How did I miss THIS????????
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I think you "got it." The way we survive this mess we are trudging through is to stay active, active in connecting with others by service. This is where the true joy comes from, isn't it my friend? Your finds are amazing. Totally accessible to you so that it's possible that you reach a few more women. Your styling skills go beyond the home; you made each bag so special so that each woman feels like a queen. Then there is your mantle...what can I say but that it's perfection. I can't wait to see what crown you come up with for your angel!
Kris, you mentioned your friend is an angel on earth...SO ARE YOU! Your love of angels is no coincidence. Beautiful gifts, beautiful mantel, beautiful angel, beautiful woman.
ReplyDeleteKris, I absolutely loved this post. Brought tears to my eyes. Why does everything make me cry these days. Your angels are so beautiful, each and every one you've shown. The RAK your prepared are just perfect. What and inspiration! Have a blessed day. Sandra
ReplyDeleteYour angel is beautiful and your gifts to those in need are even more so! Random acts of kindness are so important. Even little things - leaving the grocery store that I drive several miles out of my to shop at because they are very good about cleaning carts, belts, and reminding people to wear masks - as I was returning my cart I mentioned to the attendant and her special needs assistant who were wiping down the carts that I was very thankful for them...I appreciate the work they do to keep me safe and I feel that they are essential workers. The young woman teared up, put her hand on her heart and said "thank you...most people just yell at me." You never know when your kind works will make a difference!
ReplyDeleteKris, your mantel id lovely. I love the candles and the angels. How special to have the angel you gave to your mom. Sweet memories. Your random acts of kindness is heart warming. I love your heart. So generous and giving. my sweet friend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou are such an angel! I love Kohls and try to pick up things there often. My mom likes Anges too so I sent her a few this Christmas. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I love your mantel. But more importantly, I love the project for the women's shelter! Our church is doing something similar, but I like the idea of putting the nice things in purses. The recipients will be so appreciative! I am going to share this idea with our ECW group at church.
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind, Kris. You are an inspiration to us all!!!
You may very well be the angel, Kris. What an amazing thing to brighten someone's life and make it a little easier. Good for you! And, of course, the mantel is gorgeous, in your own unique style.

You're one of the kinesthetic souls I know Kris. So proud to call you friend. My sister-in-law works at a women's home for abused women and donating these things is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLive the fireplace and the Santos you brought back that was your moms. The candles must be magical in the evening.
Hugs,
Cindy

ReplyDeleteKris, your place looks gorgeous and your mom's angel looks right at home. And I stand by what my girls said, you are indeed the present fairy. xxoo
ReplyDeleteLove your act of kindness story, since covid I rarely leave my house, there is no random acts of kindness out and about when you are always home... I have a very large rose garden, its obviously wanning in the colder weather, but I told my husband yesterday I wanted to cut all my roses and drop them off at the hospital for the nurses, he scared me, he said there isn't enough to go around, how would they decide, that made me feel uncomfortable, so still mulling that idea over...
ReplyDeleteyour all white is lovely, I love monochromatic, I do silver for the holidays, the glint of light always catches my eye when I pass by.
So sweet. I love the purses idea and the angel is gorgeous. So is your mantel.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful gift! Those purses and their contents will be greatly appreciated! I think it's so important to be kind to others, especially at this time of year! Your mantle looks stunning and your mom's Santos angel is so beautiful in white! I'm sure she's quite pleased with the loving transformation! Have a wonderful day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea and your presentation is so beautiful! I experienced the receiving end of an act of kindness this past weekend when the person ahead of me at the drive through paid for my meal. So unexpected and sweet! Hope you and your family are doing well in spite of this covid situation. So hard on everyone and lingering for so long it's making us all crazy. May 2021 be a much happier and fulfilling year. Have a wonderful weekend Kris! xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteKris,
