| My good friend gifted me this dresser when she started to re decorate her office space. I have always loved her piece. She has had it in her house for long time. I love Tiger wood. Here was my dilemma. I really tried hard for about a month now to leave this beautiful piece alone and not paint it. I forgot to take before pictures of this dresser and another dresser in tiger wood that I had in my bedroom. Sorry. I just have this picture that my friend sent me. It just was too dark in color for my bedroom. So........ |

| It got painted white. I think it matches into the bedroom decor much better in white. This room is bright and full of light so the white dressers now have a nice presence in my bedroom. I am using this piece and another tall dresser for our nightstands. |

| This is the tiger wood dresser we painted white for Terry's side of the bed. Just ignore his pagers and chargers etc. on the side of the bed lol. Keeping it real here! |

| Terry made this headboard for me years ago out of vintage doors. I love this as a headboard and it looks pretty with all the blue and white floral wallpaper. |

| Now I feel that the dressers/nightstands seem to belong. The dark tiger wood just stuck out and it felt disjointed from the room. |

| This bedroom feels light and airy and the dressers do not stick out like they do not belong any more. |

| Where the ottoman is now was where I had a dresser. Now that I have dressers for nightstands I did not need the extra dresser. With this space being open I am on the hunt for a pretty vintage fireplace and mantel with an electric insert fireplace. I think that will look really pretty under the old vintage windows. It will bring some romance to the bedroom and also give us heat in the winter months. |

| What a difference a little white paint can do. Hope you all are enjoying Spring. We have had some beautiful days here in Illinois. The sunshine is out today and it hit 80. I have the doors and windows open and am loving the breezes coming in. I also love hearing all the birds singing with joy making their nests and getting ready to lay their eggs. We will be working on our bedroom next week. Jeremy is taking the week off. We have two rooms that we plan to re do this spring. Crossing my fingers we have a good week of work ahead. ;-) And not too many hiccups.

Oh my, Kris, I loved the tiger wood but painted white, your pieces look so perfect in your room. I LOVE your headboard and also the window pieces in the opposite wall. ReplyDeleteIt all looks beautiful, Kris. Sometimes we have to change a piece even if we liked it before. You made it go with the rest of the room which makes it cohesive. It would have looked out of place left alone.

I know some people will be screaming NO -don't paint it but I believe in Live & Let Live. That dresser was NOT you! You are light and bright and want your rooms suffused with sunshine even on dreary days. I think the dresser is perfect painted white--perfect for you and perfect for your room.
