Surgery and Up Coming Bridal Shower

My youngest daughter of the two daughters I have is getting married in October.  After college, nursing school and graduate school she is finally met a wonderful man and is going to settle down and get married.

I am thrilled and my oldest daughter and I are planning out a nice Bridal Shower for her in a few weeks.

The shower is going to be in the theme of all things she loves and the colors of her wedding.

I found these cute wine cooler purses in the color of her wedding.

Her favorite wine is Prosecco.

I found these cute champagne glasses at Home Goods.

The plum color in the ribbon is her matron of honor my daughter and her niece my granddaughter as a Jr. Bridesmaid.  The Wisteria or light  purple is the color of the other bridesmaids.  My granddaughter Charlotte is the flower girl and will be in white.

I decided for centerpieces for the bridal shower to put all of these favorite Kimmie things together for a pretty centerpiece.
We will have a nice prize for someone at each table.

I am so excited for my daughter Kimmie to be marrying a wonderful man that is so much like her dad (Terry).  Loving, caring, supportive and has tools and knows how to use them lol!

Also they want to start a family right away after the wedding.  Yay I will be getting more grand children to love, hug and kiss.

I want to thank all of you that knew about my surgery last week for kidney stone removal.  Oh boy I have had a rough week.  Today the stents came out and I hope I can heal now and feel better. It was not pretty and lots of complications.

I would not wish that surgery or recovery on anyone.
Terry and I are renting a cottage in Michigan starting on Thursday so I am praying I will feel better for our trip.

It is the weekend of the Found Cottage Market that is every Labor Day weekend.

I hope to be up to walking the market and finding some treasures.

Wishing all of you a wonderful week and wonderful holiday weekend.
xoxo
Kris

May your daughter's life be filled with much joy as she lives her life with a partner who will support her (and use them tools to make her home just right! LOL) - be well, heal up and I hope your weekend at the cottage is restorative!!! KISSES AND HUGS!

  9. Kris, I have had the kidney stone surgery and stent ad hemorrhaging before they could get me into surgery, so I know what you went through. But it was like once the stent was removed recovery went more smoother after that. I too, hope to never have to go through that again. Hope you can relax and find many treasures.

    1. I have had a rough go.  I will never do this again.  I had big stones that could not be broken down with lithotripsy so they had to surgically go up into the kidneys to laser the stones into pieces and remove them.  The recovery has been brutal.  I ended up in the ER with bleeding and infection and severe pain.  Having stents in my ureters on both sides for a week was horrendous.    The spasm and pain were incredible.  Then on top of all of this to get an infection and bleeding.

I opted for the surgery because I was worried those suckers would decide to move when it was time for the wedding and I would end up missing the wedding with emergency surgery.  If I had know what I would have gone through this week with recovery I would have waited and took my chances.

In a month from now they will do a series of 24 hour urine and blood work up to see what is making these stones in me and then maybe we can do something to help prevent them.  I never had kidney stones but as a nurse use to see people in such severe pain with them.  Now I can related to what they went through.

I just started to have them a year ago never earlier in life so not sure why this is happening to me at this point in life.  He thinks they could be calcium stones.  Not the stones from diet but from too much calcium in my blood from my bones.  With having a hysterectomy early in life and not hormones it could be that calcium is not staying in my bones now.  Hopefully in a month we will get some answers.

In the mean time I am laying low so hopefully we can make our trip on Thursday to Michigan.  I would hate to lose the money on the cottage rental.

Sorry you have had to go through this too. It is not anything you would recommend to anyone.

Glad you survived it. xoxo Kris

  10. Kris, I'm so sorry to hear about your recent surgery! I know from friends that it is a very painful one. Please take care! I'll pray that you are able to enjoy the getaway trip. I'm sure it will lift your spirits.

How exciting though about the news of Kimmie's October wedding! (I'm partial to them as we were married in October.) Your soon to be son-in-law sounds just perfect for her. Her wedding colors are beautiful and your favors for the shower are absolutely lovely as well as unique. You have some very happy occasions ahead of you!
    Congratulations to all,

  15. These will be adorable centerpieces !! I had fun planning my youngest daughter'd daughters shower and she had more of a dark purple, so I painted wine glasses as favors (https://ppandorasbox.blogspot.com/2018/07/caitlins-bridal-shower.html). It is such a fun and exciting time - both of my daughters married great guys! So happy to hear you are on the mend - sounds like you had a tough time. I hope you are feeling back to normal this weekend to enjoy your get away....it will be a nice break and a time to relax - and SHOP the market!

  27. Wow. Love the colors of the celebration. Congrats to your beautiful daughter and wedding and bright future ahead. :0) . So sorry you have been under the weather ..but glad to hear you have found pain relief. Ironically, my daughter had an ER visit this week, whereas, she was driving the boys to school and had to driver herself to ER after the first drop-off. She called me from ER crying hysterically due to pain..with diagnosis of infection and one stone that must be passed. So I have seen with hub also the pain of stones. Glad you are doing better and on the mend and sure hope you have a restful and full of shoping and pleasure vacation at the rental. :0) .. Enjoy...Enjoy...Well deserved. The shower will be so beautiful and fun, it seems. ;0)

  36. I have walked that path of your pain---yours, not mine---with you and have been praying for you all along the way. I hope this is the end of the stones and they can figure out why this is happening to you--and take steps to resolve it so it doesn't happen again.

Love what you are doing for Kimmie's shower. I know you will do a smash up job like you always do for your girlfriend parties every year. She is a blessed girl!!

Hope you are having fun in MI and feel like walking the entire show. I KNOW you will come home with some treasures! xo xo xo
