I have planted daisies, lavender, yellow begonias, and periwinkle vinca in the flower beds. I am experimenting with what will survive the deer, bunnies and squirrels. So far so good. The knock out roses along the white fence have been slow to bloom. Knock out roses are easy peasy and require little maintenance. I have been dead heading hoping they will continue to bloom through out the summer and into the fall. Sometimes the first season of knock out roses are less blooming and in following years will begin to fill in and bloom more. |
Pretty and colorful garden, the bike as a planter is a clever addition. Having the front porch chairs behind that short mini fence is a good idea, that way you can keep an eye on your neighbors without being too obvious.👁️
ReplyDeleteKris, your annuals have done amazingly well! Working on perennials definitely just takes patience, but you've gotten the hard work of choosing and planting them done. Next year will be even better. We had a slight cool down on Friday, but it's creeping back up. I'll take even just a few degrees cooler and a little less humidity without complaint though!
ReplyDeleteLove, love ,love your flowers, Kris! So full and stunning! Glad y’all are finally cooling off!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cecilia
Very cozy, Love the backdrop of the fence. Presently it is 56 degrees here, wish it would stay!
ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning display of beautiful flowers Kris! Your painted bike looks amazing! I absolutely love the butterfly glass dish. Hugs Gilly (UK)
ReplyDeleteYour flowers always shine. Everything is beautiful. I never have luck with geranium. It was finally a nice day yesterday. Second time we sat outside. We didn't have to make Reeses come inside. Happy Sunday. Hugs, Cindy
ReplyDeleteKris, your flowers are beautiful. Love the painted bike in the front yard. Your little patio is so charming with some privacy. My petunias cannot survive in this heat, plus the squirrels eat them. Happy new week. Xo
ReplyDeleteKris, as usual, your house is the prettiest one on the block...I haven't even see the others, but I just know it's true! Your flowers are fantastic and I'm glad to hear that the only ones munching on them are the hummingbirds. Enjoy the nice weather...we've had a break, too. It makes summer activities so much more fun!! xo
ReplyDeleteYour garden is so beautiful as always!!!! I'm glad you found a combination of plants that the critters do not like. Enjoy the cooler weather!!!!

Kris, the flowers in the front look amazing and growing so big. I love how the pretty bike looks too. I'm glad the weather is better for you and it sounds like we are having the same weather here. Enjoy the weekend and have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt you have a green thumb!!! The blooms are amazing. Margy in KY
ReplyDeleteI love your bags .... they are amazing. So full of flowers. It all is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKris. your flowers are gorgeous! They don’t look heat stressed at all. Annuals give and give! Perennials take more effort or at least for us. I love the bicycle! I know you are happy to be back to gardening!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look amazing, Kris, and so healthy - they must be enjoying the summer.

Oh Kris, you are surrounded by blooming beauty at your cottage! I would be so happy sitting on your patio and smelling all those lush petunias and seeing hummingbirds. Thank you for sharing all the lushness. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at your blooms, you must take such good care of them! Thank you for sharing a beautiful corner of your world.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are amazing as they always are. I can't believe how big and full those bag planters are this year! WOW!!! I have had such good luck with ferns here the last few years-the big Boston Ones. Last year I was able to bring them to the clubhouse and overwinter them in the big sun-drenched windows there. I think I will probably do that again this year.
ReplyDeleteI am going to do more geraniums next year. My baskets have struggled this year even with constant attention but the geraniums do beautifully- well except for one that the deer nibbled down to nothing.
Have a wonderful upcoming week. It's a busy, busy one for me. xo Diana
