I thought this would look nice with my wreath hanging in on it. I took my wood blinds off fully intending to put the cling film on this window to give privacy.
After trying a piece I did not like that it blocked out the woods behind us. In the summer months it is so pretty with the trees and birds back there.
We back up to the woods and it is protected land so nothing will ever be built behind our house. With that said I really do not have to worry about needing privacy behind the house. No one goes back there except the animals that live in the woods lol. Plus it is my dining room window and not a bedroom window that would need privacy.
I love the light that comes in all day. Today and many days this month have been without sunshine. When it is a sunny day the sunshine comes through the window and is very pretty with my salvage piece and wreath.
To let you know how this piece is hung on the window was pretty easy too. Terry used fishing line that holds up to 20LBs. This piece is not that heavy.
He hung the piece by the fishing line to the under part of the upper dining room window. He screwed in the line. He then attached the fishing line to the back of the piece to keep it steady on the window.
The fishing line is clear so it blends in with the window and you do not see it.
Happy Friday Have a wonderful weekend. We are taking our grand kiddos to Disney on Ice this weekend. Hugs, Kris |
What a fun idea for the fridge! It is a light pattern and just kind of dresses it up a bit....and if you get tired of it-it will be easy to take it off. That is the only thing I hate about stainless steel is the fingerprints and I don't like the 'fingerprint free' stainless steel. My BIL had it on his fridge. Just not my choice, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where you got that wreath (or if you made it) but I have a huge overside purse that I am going to carry next time I come to visit you. While you are busy making us a snack, that thing is gonna jump in my purse and I am going to keep you so wrapped up in conversation that you won't notice it missing until after I leave. LOL...
Seriously-it's beautiful and so is the piece you found that is holding it. Terry is very clever with how he figures things out. If you ever want to sell him, let me know....xo Diana
Brilliant strategy Diana.
DeleteI love how your refrigerator turned out. I am glad you were minding your own business, and found this idea to share with us. Hee Hee!
ReplyDeleteI love the window.
Have fun this weekend... I went to Disney on Ice years ago. ;-)
Love, Carla
Your fridge makeover with the cling turned out great, Kris! Your hubby is so wonderful to assist you with your projects. I also love your architectural piece in your DR window. I’ll bet you love looking out there all year. Have a fun time at Disney on Ice! 😘
ReplyDeleteWow that is easy peasy and looks great! Yes the architectural piece is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteWow, that was a good idea to pop up in your feed. Guess that’s one instance where it was actually helpful. I love how it dressed up the stainless without actually altering it. And your dining room window looks all dressed up with its new old architectural piece. Glad you found something that doesn’t block your pretty view! So pretty.

Great idea and no more fingerprints. Fishing line is genius. That piece you found is gorgeous. Stay warm. Bitter cold thus weekend. I love cold weather but this is going too far. Hugs, Cindy
ReplyDeleteKris, such a wonderful idea to cover your stainless steel appliances. The cling is so pretty. We have wood panels to match our cabinets in our kitchen. I am going to order some cling panels for our large windows in our dining rooms to keep the birds safe. Your new piece look lovely in your dining room window. Happy weekend. Hugs 🤗
ReplyDeleteI love the hanging arrangement on your window. I agree, film would block the view.
ReplyDeleteYou could always get some sheers (lots of gorgeous ones out there) and pull them to the side of course but close them when you want. I can not have sheers because kitty Princess licks them nibbles on them. silly thing.
I have seen the ads on instagram and pinterest with the clear film on appliances. I saw one where the woman was putting flowers all over her fridge and it looked bad haha haha
I do have the clear film on my bedroom windows because the view is not that great.
Right now I do have magnets and pictures all over my fridge. I am so messy.
We are having beastly wind today and Siberia vibe outside so I am hiding in the house today. I am gonna watch the Olympics and sew
Oh, and both of you did an epic job on the fridge and it looks very nice
DeleteWow to the covering! And I LOVE that architectural piece!
ReplyDeleteThat really makes a difference Kris! You must be so pleased and the new architectural piece on your window looks great. More clever transformations indeed. Gilly (UK)
ReplyDeleteHow clever! The fridge looks awesome! And the window piece is so eye-catching and pretty....Have fun at the ice show
ReplyDeleteFunny about the window cling - we just did the bottom halves of our living room windows a couple of weeks ago! We love the look and it gives us privacy in the living room since the next door neighbor's old privacy fence blew down and now they can look right in our house. I was afraid the film would block the sunlight for my plants but nope, it's just right. Still offers filtered light. I would've never thought to use window film on SS appliances - very cool! We don't have any SS appliances though (except for our toaster oven). Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo funny about how the internet knows where you've been lol. My daughter calls it "Kevin." Like: "Kevin is listening." Big joke in our house. One of the first things I did 22 years ago when we move into this house was add some cling to the windows on the sides of our front door. I felt naked without them! Most recently I added some to the bottom half of our sliding glass doors in the back of the house so the dogs can't watch the squirrels in the yard - drives them crazy! Never thought to use on appliances - genius. Love that architectural piece - jealous! So glad we seem to be out of the negative wind chill woods! The snow is actually melting . . . . hopefully we won't have any surprise snow before spring (fingers crossed, right?). Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWhat an ingenious idea. Your mind must race all the time with ideas. LOL. love your old piece with that gorgeous wreath. Message me your address when you have a sec. Lost my address book while cleaning house. That's what I get for deep cleaning! Have a great week. I'm getting ready to do a major. Overhaul in my den. It's been 11 years and I'm ready for a change. Have a great week. It's beautiful here in the 70s the next week. Judy clark
ReplyDeleteI like the cling on the fridge and the piece hanging in your window and the wreath is so pretty. I hope you have a great time at Disney on Ice.
ReplyDeleteI love how you and your partner in beautification pretty up everything. The fridge looks great. The new upcycle with wreath is soooo great, too. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteKris, how fun to cover your stainless steel appliances. I don’t think your creative mind ever stops! Love the architectural window piece, beautiful! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning. Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada ❤️ 😊 🇨🇦
ReplyDeleteI love it....You were on Instagram minding your own business. Sure, Kris....I believe you! ;P
ReplyDeleteI love this makeover! This is a fantastic idea.
I painted my toaster and blender, so there's that...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It adds such a touch of softness, now it looks like it belongs in your charming home. It's so funny, I saw the same lady and thought, hmmm...I need to tuck that one away for a rainy day. We have bisque appliances to match my kitchen, but they don't make them anymore. I live in constant fear that one of them is going to break. However, with this idea, I can camouflage whatever color I do get! Although I do keep telling myself that when the stove goes, I'm getting a red one. Of course, that will be the last appliance to go!! Hahaha! Happy Valentine's Day!! xo
ReplyDeleteThis is a clever idea and it came out fab, Kris! I would never have thought to upcycle our hard working fridge.
