Compassionate kindness is the most precious thing there is. It is something that only we human beings can develop. And if we have a good heart, a warm heart, warm feelings, we will be happy and satisfied ourselves, and others will experience a friendly and peaceful atmosphere.
This is a beautiful quote.
I feel too that kindness is one of the most precious gifts we can share with one another. It costs nothing and is readily available at anytime for us to share.

I am 3 weeks out from my surgery and I am doing really well.
The neurosurgeon is pleased with my recovery progress for only 3 weeks.
It can take up to a year to get full mobility and stability back on my right side.
For a few months I could not feel much of anything on my right side. Now after removing the tumor off my spine, I have already gotten back most of the feeling on my right side.
I still need better stability and strength to recover completely .
I need to be patient which is not my strong suit!!
I want to thank all of you for your good wishes and prayers and cards. It meant a lot to me.

I am starting slowly to put away some of my fall decor. Baby steps during this recovery!
Then I want to start to decorate early for Christmas.
My daughter hosts Thanksgiving so that lets me get a jump on Christmas.
With not being able to do to much yet I have been spending some of my down time trolling Instagram and Pinterest with Christmas decor ideas.
That is getting me excited to put up some of my decor which I hope to share soon.
Thank you again for your kind hearts.
Hugs
Kris

WAY to go, Kris!!! This is SUCH great news! Keep up the good work, and I'll leave w/ a small bit of advice my wonderful PT gave me ~ don't look at small day-to-day advances ~ look back at where you started!

Kris, I'm thrilled to hear that you're making such great progress! I know the baby steps thing is hard, but hopefully it'll go faster than you think. Thankfully, it's Hallmark Christmas movie season...so at least you have something good to chill out in front of when you have to be still!! Haha!! Love you!
ReplyDeleteHello Kris,
ReplyDeleteOh, I do love GOOD NEWS, and this is good news. I am so happy you are healing so well. I understand the patience thing .... that is one of my weak areas too, I like to be doing. I am praying for you.
xo
Kris, I'm glad to hear that you are recovering well. Take it easy and thinking of you. Sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteKris, so glad to hear you are on the mend. I have been on the receiving end of PT after surgery. It is difficult when one is used to being active and all of a sudden your life takes a complete stop. As you have been told, (and me too) these things take time and yes, patience is a virtue. But each day is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteI must have missed the post using Rit color remover...but it came at a perfect time for me as I need to 'lighten up' some outdoor slip covers. So I am going to give it a go, thanks to your post.
How nice that you do not have to plan and prepare Thanksgiving...I wish my daughter lived close by...but Kansas is about 1300 miles from Florida, and yes, we can fly up there (and have many times) but the Captain and I are making dinner for a few neighbors who do not have family close by. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.🍁🦃🍁🦃

ReplyDeleteSuch good news to hear that you are doing better. Take good care and rest well.
ReplyDeleteTry to sit, plan, and watch Christmas movies. Hopefully time goes by quickly. With the 2 fur babies we may not be able to decorate for Christmas. They are spit fires. They don't stop. Hugs Cindy
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that your recovery is going so well! Being patient is difficult, especially when there is so much to do this time of year. I love the kindness quote. Showing kindness produces warm feelings for the giver and the receiver. We never know what other people are going through. One small act as simple as a smile can be very meaningful. Thank you for the update. I love to hear that my prayers were answered!
ReplyDeleteKris, such wonderful news regarding your recovery. Looks how far you have come. So very proud of you. Patience is trying sometimes, it in the end, it all is worth it. Kindness costs nothing and it is such a wonderful feeling to to being kind and a.so on the receiving end. How nice your daughter is hosting Thanksgiving. Take care. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove your beginning to Christmas! So thankful and glad you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteDear Kris. I am like you.... retired nurse, not a good patient. Keep being a good patient.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to read your recovery update today. I know you have so many adoring helpers to wait on you and make things just so. You are dearly loved.
You have been in my prayers.
I know it's hard for you to take things slowly. I know your Christmas decor will be so cute just like your fall decor. I'm slowly planning Christmas. It will be so different with a grand baby! AND I CAN'T *wait* :D
ReplyDeleteI’m so thankful at your progress, Kris, and that you had your surgery and didn’t wait. How wonderful to appreciate all the love and kindness that you’ve received. You certainly deserve it. Enjoy your Christmas planning and take it slowly as you get a head start. Prayers continue for you, sweet friend. xo
ReplyDeleteBless you Kris - I'm so very pleased to hear that you are making such good progress and also being sensible and making sure not to do too much! Terry will no doubt be looking after you and it's great that you don't have to worry about hosting Thanksgiving. Take care lovely lady, big hugs from Gilly (UK)
ReplyDeleteOh Kris that’s great news about your post-op recovery. I know back surgery takes a while. Getting the nerves and muscles to work again! I’m putting away fall too!
ReplyDeleteI’m so glad you’re improving so quickly. Do what you need to get your strength and stability back. I’m excited for Christmas this year too. Here’s to enjoying the season as fully as possible!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cecilia
So so glad your surgery went well! That must have been scary. And you had BETTER be only taking baby steps for your Christmas decorating! Knowing you, that will be very hard to sit still! The body can heal miraculously if you let it rest! I fell 4 years ago, and my upper back is still not back to normal (yet). It's getting there, but taking it easy is not my cup of tea, so I've done way more than I should have. I now wish I would have let it rest more and not used it so much! Take heed! (But it's hard to do....). Hugs.. Marilyn
ReplyDeleteBaby steps are good steps! No need to rush in taking down fall decor. You've got plenty of time. I'm still enjoying every bit of mine, ha ha. Glad you are doing so well. xoxo
