Saturday Spotlight: The Life Behind The Blogger

Susan from Must Love Junk, and myself (Kris) Junk Chic Cottage wanted to do a regular feature on our blogs, something unique that hasn't been done before.   So we came up with an idea to 'spotlight the real life behind the blogger' in a more personal way.
There is so much talent and inspiration in blogland, and we thought it would be fun to bring you a closer look at the person behind the blog.

Every week on Saturday we will spotlight a blogger and have them tell us a little bit about themselves and their blogs.  You will be able to see and read about each of the bloggers on both Susan's and my blog.

I am so happy to introduce you to this next Saturday Spotlight Blogger.  Today's feature is Anne from White Lace Cottage.  I am excited to introduce you to her because I have actually met Anne and we have become friends outside of blog world.  Anne is so sweet and talented and I am so happy to call her friend.  Please sit back and enjoy reading about this beautiful and very talented blogger.

Having a blog you may think that I am comfortable talking about myself.
The truth is I am really not.
When I was asked to be a part of this I was a bit hesitant but thought I should get out of my comfort zone a bit and talk about me.
Oh yes I love sharing decorating ideas and inspiration that is easy.
But talking about me well that's  another story.
I have been married to my wonderful, handsome and amazing husband for 24 years. We have been together for 30 years...we dated for 6 years before we were married.
He is my best friend and my true confindant! I am  blessed and truly  lucky!

If we could we would go ever year,it  is our happy place.
Our family is very close we spend lots of time together even taking walks or bike rides.
These are the years my daughter is growing and before you know it she will be gone.We take advantage of all the time we have together now!
As a family we have gone to several concerts.Bruce Springsteen is big in our house! This past summer we saw Paul McCartney and soon will be off to see Pat Benatar!
I don't like winter I am not a cold weather person. But for now I am stuck living in a colder climate.
I am a licensed hair stylist but I don't work in a shop. But I still do hair for a few of my friends.
When I was little I wanted to be a singer and an actress.
The kids I went to school with thought I would be on Broadway.
Speaking of Pat she was my singing idol.Oh yes I used to belt out her songs in front of a mirror.
And I loved Carol Burnett.I thought she was so funny! I always wanted to make people laugh like she did...I still do!

Thank you Anne for sharing your beautiful family and photos with all of us.  It was so nice to learn more of the personal side of you.  I know this was a hard one for you but it was a beautiful post and I loved seeing all your pictures and learning more about you.  Now if you loved learning about Anne please hop over to Susan's blog and learn about Betsy from My Salvaged Treasures.  Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.  I am away and on Babysitting duty for my 3 year old granddaughter Abby so MeMe here is very tired.  I forgot how much energy 3 year olds have and how they never run out of that energy!!!!!! Have a great Saturday.

White Neutral Fall Decor

Good Labor Day to all of you.  Hope the week end was great.  It is so much better to start the work week out on a Tuesday and not a Monday!!!!

Here is proof that even the neutral girls with white and cream decor can do a fall theme.

Let me show you some pictures of why I am not working on fall yet outside.  It is still too much like summer here in Chicago Land.

Look at the flower box on the front porch that is attached to the old cottage nest door.  The sweet potato vine is growing the whole length of the bushes.

My old vintage garden door with the petunia's still hanging on to summer.

All the back deck plants still hanging in there too.

I love that I could dress up this chippy chair with some fall flowers and white pumpkins.  See you can still be a neutral palate girl and still decorate for fall.  Don't get me wrong I love the colors of fall.  I love the reds, oranges, yellow which I will use on the outside of the house when fall gets closer.  For inside I like staying with neutrals for fall decor.

I loved this sign that I found at Home Goods.  I loved the saying and happy it was cream and brown.  Just perfect put in my centerpiece arrangement.
There you have it.  You can make fall arrangements with white, creams and browns and still get a pretty fall arrangement.  Don't get me wrong I love the colors of oranges and reds and yellows for fall but I think I will use those colors on the outside of the house when fall really gets here and my summer flowers are done.

Started some decor on the mantel.  This is a work in progress.
I feel like I could start on the inside of the house but it is too early to do anything outside yet.
Thanks for stopping by and taking time to leave a comment.  I really appreciate all your comments.
Have a great week.
Kris
