Mother's Day and Mickey and Minnie

We are off next week to the happiest place on earth.  We take a family vacation each year together.  We will be headed to Florida.

These two will be our hosts.

This is the house we rented for the week.  It is 5 minutes outside of Disney.  We like to rent a house so we have some privacy at the end of the day of the busy park scene.  There will be my oldest daughter and son in law and our two grand daughters and my youngest daughter and Terry and I.  So this house is perfect for all of us and everyone will have their own space.

I wanted to show you some of the rooms in this house.  This is the Frozen room that Abby our 8 year old granddaughter will have for her stay.  There is a little castle area off this room with a play castle full of all the princess costumes for the girls to play dress up.

Our daughter Kim is a big Harry Potter fan so she will be staying in this fun room.

Jen and Tim will have the first floor Master with this smaller room off the Master with a crib for our 20 month old grand daughter Charlotte.

This will be the room Terry and I stay in.  It is the romantic safari themed room.  Love the romantic netting.

This is one of the game rooms.  It has all kinds of great electronic gaming equipment.  My son in law will love hanging out in this room.

This is another guest room that is very calm and serene.

There is a nice size kitchen for us to prepare breakfast or dinners at home.

A nice big living room area and dining room.  This house also has a large ManCave with pool tables, 74 inch TV., Fusbal, hockey and slot machines etc.  They did not have a good pic of this room.  I know the guys will love that room.

This is the inside of the play house.  I know the girls will have fun with this little space.

A nice large pool and spa to come home too at the end of a long day in the Disney Parks .  It is great to have our own private pool to lounge in and not have to share with anyone else!

We have stayed in Disney in the past but have found we prefer to rent a home like this one that is outside the park.  After long days in the busy parks with lots and lots of peeps all around us it is nice to come back to a quiet home all to ourselves.
This house rents for less than $250 a night.  It is a 7 bedroom home in a gated area.  It is only 5 minutes to the Parks.  We could not have stayed on Disney property for this price.   We would have needed to get 2 to 3 rooms for all of us. 

We would not have had the room to spread out either when you stay in the Disney hotels and we would not have the kitchen and grill area to eat in when we want too.

I cannot wait to get on the plane Saturday and begin our family vacation.  We only do the Disney Parks for 2 days and Universal for 1 day and evening. 

That is plenty for us and then we have the rest of the days to visit the beach and use the pool to chill and relax. 

We also do Downtown Disney for great restaurants and the fun activities there.

I cannot think of anything better in my life than being blessed with my two daughters.  They are such a gift to me and now I also have my two grand daughters.

I feel beyond happy and blessed with them in my life.

There is no greater gift than the love you have with your children and their children.

Reveal of the Living Room Finally!

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.  Hope your weekend has been good.  We hit in the 80's this weekend.

I got my front flowers planted and oh how I am feeling it!  My back and knees are screaming!!! I am trying to put in more and more perennials but I still love the annuals.  So glad I can finally be planting in the garden.  Nothing like digging in the dirt.

Now for the Living Room Reveal.  I got my slipcovers this past week so now I can show you how the living room is coming along.

This was the foyer before. 

I took away the cedar chest in the Foyer and added this little chippy chair I got on our trip to Michigan.

Love this sweet little chippy chair.  Just adds some charm to the entry way.

Moved the expand o matic table under the mirror from the other side of the room.

Added some of my garden decor in the entry way for summer.

Did not touch my old lake house window and shutters.  In this tiny house that is really the only wall that will fit on.

Now on to the Living Room change a roo!

This is how my living room looked with two chairs and the vintage dresser.  It made the room feel bigger having just the two chairs but I always felt it needed something more.

 I wanted a conversation area for this living room.  So I added two more chairs.  I had the lovely and talented Lisa from Fabric 8 Slipcovers take my Ikea slipcover and add a ruffle to the bottom to match the other two chairs.  If you need a simple ruffle added to an existing slipcover or a whole new slipcover Lisa is your girl.

Lisa does not compensate me in any way I just have loved her work for a long time and I love to let you know about wonderful talent like hers.   Lisa is a real sweetheart and so easy to work with on a project.

I like that I have more seating in the living room.  Makes the room feel more like a living room. I like the cozy feel that a conversation set up adds to a living space.

This is the cute little chippy table I got on our trip to Michigan.  Perfect size and shape for my conversation area.

I had showed most of you how Terry put up my chandelier and we framed it out with old vintage frames.

This is the cute sign I got on the trip too.  I love this saying and it fits perfectly in this small cottage home.

A friend and I took a ride over the boarder into Wisconsin to Chippy Shabby's Market sale at her home.  I found that awesome porch post at her sale.  It is so full of character and charm.  Thanks Jeanine I love it.

I feel the old chippy birdhouse needs a little something added to it.  I am currently working on that.

I just love the old chippy detail to this porch post.  Very unique.

So there you have it.  Just buying two more Ikea chairs and a new coffee table along with a few new decor pieces I have a whole new look to my living room.

 I am not so great at the picture taking and adjusting my pics with the amount of light that comes into this space.  I really wish I could have you all see how pretty this room really is.  So please come on over to see it!!!

Wallpaper reveal in 3 in 1 Room

Hellooooo my fellow bloggers and followers.

Hope your week is going great.  We have been in the 80's this week and we are loving it.  Mr. Winter has finally left and Spring/Summer temps are here.

This is the wallpaper I found to do just the one wall in my 3 way room.  Since I am living small  my 2nd bedroom has 3 purposes.
My office area, guest room area and make up area.

I wanted to use this wallpaper to give a little texture and fun to my office wall.

I added Anita's sweet cherub she gifted me.  I painted her white and then tried to have some of the gold come through to match the chippy piece.
I am not sure I am sold on her this way just yet.  I may bring her back to the original gold or maybe all white.  She is special so I want her to look just right.

I think the wallpaper gives a little bit of texture to my whites.  This is the area I spend a lot of my time.

Since I do spend a lot of time at my desk and computer I like to surround myself with the things that make me smile.

This is a gorgeous vintage mirror was gifted to my by a special friend for my birthday.  I hung it on this chippy cabinet door.

I got the corbels on my trip and they make a nice shelf for my angels and Madonnas.

I have a place for all my catalogs and magazines.

The front left corner of the room is my make up area.  When you live in a 1949 cottage there was no such thing as double sinks and make up areas when this house was built.  This corner is my area for my jewelry and makeup.

This is the new chair I got on my trip.  It is perfect for my make up area.  Very comfy and I like that it rolls on the wood floors.

In the right side of this room is where I have a guest bed available if I have an over night guest.

I love this gray pretty cottage chair I have had for a long time.  I added some pillows I got on the trip to this chair.  Just love this chair it is very comfy.

Here is another treasure I got on my trip.  I love this saying.  It is so perfect for our small cottage home living.  Terry framed it for me and now it is hanging in the living room.  My slipcovers are due here tomorrow or Friday and then I can hopefully do a reveal of my living room change a roo!!!
