I am dreaming of a nice day filled with sun, warmth and birds singing.  I can't wait to fling open the windows hear the birds singing and work in the garden!!! We are still hanging onto Old Man Winter here in Chicago.  Man he is overstaying his welcome. Time to go already!!!!

Anyway I thought I would share some pictures of my garden from last year.  It just made me excited to look at last years pictures and feel good that maybe just maybe we might get to spring and summer here soon!!!!!!

Just like in my house I love to put architectural  pieces in my garden scapes too.

Oh to see my lovely chair again.  I love to sit and read and relax on that sweet chair.

Even the hubby's shed get's some summer love.

I can't wait to stop and smell some roses!!!!

Oh how I can't wait to plant and start my watering cans back into service!!!!
Enjoy your week.

    1. Yikes more snow!!!! Wow they are saying no snow anymore but some cold temps at night for the next few nights and then it is suppose to get close to 60 by Saturday. Wooooo Hooooo I want to fling open my windows so badly!!!! I started Spring cleaning and lost steam without being able to open windows I can't get motivated. I got two rooms done and did the windows and blinds and baseboards just to prove to myself I am out of shape and old!!!!! You can come on that chair anytime. I love that chair. It is comfy and so relaxing to just sit out there. I can't wait. Have a great week.

  17. Oh Kris - what a little Garden of Eden you've created - I can picture myself there on a sweltering day ( dreaming of sweltering, can you imagine? maybe because it feels like it's never going to happen? ) with a glass of lemonade and a home and garden magazine!
I miss my garden desperately ( we downsized and don't have one anymore )
    DESPERATELY!
I'll have to live through your photos this summer I suppose!

    1. I do park it out on that lounge chair in the summer and read and just soak up sun. I hope I will see this garden again some day soon!!!! I am so over winter and need some nice sunshine and weather so I can plant and start my flowers. It is a pain watering all of those flowers but I love it. Everyday I am out there with hose in hand keeping those babies alive and pretty. Oh I can't wait.

  24. Kris, We were up there last Mother's Day and my son's back gardens were just gorgeous. So, in just a few short weeks I know your yard will look just like it does in all the gorgeous photos you shared with us today. Such a sweet cottage romantic feel to it. It belongs in a magazine. xo

I am hoping by Mother's Day this year to at least get some flowers in. Today is going to be 60 the problem is that the crazy weather will not stay warm!!!!

  28. I am wanting to make an umbrella flower arrangement like yours. I FOUND the perfect umbrella, just lying on the road while out for a walk. Just need some inspiration and the flowers now.
I hate to tell you, but we have had the best spring weather here. Sunshine and warm temps for over a week now. Wish I could send you some.

  29. Hi Kris

I don't know whether seeing your garden pics has made me feel more hopeful of spring being just around the corner, or put me into a bout of depression as it's busy snowing here in the UK!!

Your garden is as beautiful as your home, and I absolutely adore the little fire truck which is obviously appropriate to your husband's work, it looks gorgeous with the flowers peeking out of it.

  30. Kris, these pictures are so gorgeous! I think I may have even pinned a few of them last year! Your flowers and little vignettes are adorable and I really feel your spring fever pain! Our temps are gradually moving upward and I have my eye on this weekend to get outside and "play". I sute hope that spring comes your way soon and you can get back outside and enjoy playing in the dirt! Hugs, Leena

  32. Your beautiful garden from last year gave me such a boost this morning. We had a large tree cut down earlier this week, and my yard looks like a cyclone hit it! Your lovely post reminded me it's not permanent. Your deck chair looks so comfy; hope you're sitting in it again soon.
