Garden Sanctuary and New Lounge Chair Slipcover

Happy Sunday.

I wanted to share my new lounge chair slipcover I just got from a very talented lady in Etsy land.

Take a look at the pretty new lounge cover she made for me using one of my old lounge covers for a template.

All I can say is she does beautiful work.
I will give you all the information on this slipcover and how you can get one made or have one made up in your own fabric at the end of this post.

I did not receive anything for giving Karen this shout out just like to acknowledge talented people when I am a satisfied customer.  Love to help other women in business.

Here is my old and faded lounge chair cover. It use to be vibrant and full of beautiful color but over time with the sun and exposure it has faded.  My trustee assistant looks a little faded in the sun too LOL!

Karen Harmon to the rescue.  If the name sounds familiar to you well Karen is mom to another talented slipcover sewing queen Lisa Harmon/LHarmonDesigns.  Lisa is making my sectional slipcover for my living room.  That is on it's way and I will have a post about that hopefully this week.  Lisa told me about her mom having an Etsy Shop  Karen Harmon/DesignerStitching.  Karen also loves to sew so she wanted to take a crack at making a lounge chair slipcover from my old one.

So pretty in a light natural fabric that is washable and hopefully will not fade.
I just love it.  Karen did a wonderful job.

This is the back of the lounge slipcover.
Karen made all the ties to finish off the cover and have it look fitted on the chair.

My trustee assistant still has not moved even after all the moving of the chair to get pictures.  I guess she is just so tired from all the decor change up with the lounger!

So if you would love to get one of these pretty lounge chair covers you can contact Karen Harmon/ Designer Stitching on her Etsy site.  She will give you pricing for this particular cover where she has the fabric or you can provide your own fabric (60 inch wide and 6 yards) and she will only charge you her labor and shipping to make up a custom slip just for you.

Thank you Karen. I love my new slipcover.

I cannot wait to do a post on the slipcover to my Living Room Sectional that Lisa is sending.  Stay Tuned.  This mother daughter sewing team knocks it out of the park on great slipcovers.

Now on to the Garden Sanctuary

Everything in the garden is getting very lush and pretty.  We have had a lot of  harsh rain but the flowers seem to be holding up well.

This petunia pot has tripled in size and has consumed the old chippy bench I had it sitting on.  They love the heat, humidity and sun they get on this deck.  Dead heading this is a chore but totally worth it.  It gives me gorgeous blooms.  I feed once a week miracle grow alternating between bloom booster and regular flower feed.

Chippy seat anyone?

This is where the birds have their sanctuary.  They love to eat, drink and mingle in this part of the garden.  Some of the smaller birds actually like to get up inside the birdhouse and perch.

This is the old night stand with drawers that I filled with the flowers.  They have gotten so big you hardly see the dresser anymore.

The back deck is where I love to spend a lot of my day.  I can fuss with the flowers and also lounge on my chair and read.  Love soaking up the sun.

How is your summer going?  Hope you are enjoying all that summer has to offer.

Have a great start to the new week.
Kris

  1. Your flowers are looking just beautiful, Kris! They are so abundant and healthy looking. I'm sure your regular deadheading helps those petunias. I have to get some miracle grow for my container plants. I keep forgetting to pick it up when I'm out, but I am writing it in big letters on my list after I leave this comment! : ) Love your new cover. Karen did a great job on it!

  2. Your slipcover is beautiful, Kris! Karen did a fabulous job of sewing a custom cover for your lounge chair! And your sanctuary garden is just breathtaking, filled with all the gorgeous flowers! I can see why your dog enjoys the spot so much. :)

  4. Your new slip is perfect :) It's always nice to find someone that can do these thing for us. I love to sew but sometimes a big project is just to much and would love to hire it out. I got a package from you :) My sons grad party was yesterday so I will email you and thank you later today. You are such a treasure!

  5. Kris, your slipcover is fantastic, and your garden blooms and accessories are gorgeous! Sanctuary, indeed! Btw, my natural slipcover does, indeed, even have variations in color when I put toss pillows or throws on it. Once removed, you can detect an ever so slight difference in the hue, even though it's natural. Only if you were looking for it would you even notice.

  6. I am so glad you found someone to make the new slipcover for you. The fabric looks like it will hold up well and not change colors. You can add florals with pillows, but your lovely garden does the trick with flowers. I do have garden envy. I really need some of that rain you had all winter.

Enjoy your garden retreat during the summer.

  8. Oh how stunning - your flowers are to die for. My petunias look terrible - they are going in the trash. I can grow everything else but them for some reason. Your lounge cover looks so good and she really put a lot of detail into it. What a wonderful place to hang out and I think Libby likes it too.
Hope Terry is doing well on his recovery and also his father. Enjoy your deck and all the lovely flowers - I'm jealous LOL

The old slipcover is sooo lovely but one can understand the fading. The new one is as beautiful and I really think the neutral color is wonderful....you can mix and decorate that up anyway you want! The chest in the garden is too sweet....( I want to do that when I can) Looking at gardens is one of my favorite things to do......I've enjoyed my visit! Great ideas, Kris! Blessings~~~Roxie

  22. Oh Kris, those flowers are just to die for, SO Beautiful and FULL!!!! My flowers are just barely hanging on, but 110 degree temps and dry heat don't do much for Petunia's and Vinca's... I can't wait for fall, winter and spring when my flowers will bloom beautifully (wink, I hope). Love the chaise cover, she did such a nice job. Next summer, my vacay will not be to the beaches of Cali, it will be to Your House!!! :) Blessings for a great week ahead! Cindy

    1. Hi Carol,
We did paint our deck last fall with Rustoleum's restore product. It is the first time we have ever used anything that held up so well. Between the harsh winters and me watering out there with all the flowers this product seems to work the best it held up great and all we had to do this summer was a few spots of touch up. Before we would have to paint the whole deck each summer from the winters. We got this at Home Depot and it works great. I would recommend it. I think Behr has a similar product now too also at Home Depot. Hope you come back to read this since you are a no reply blogger I could not email you back. Hope this helps.

  48. What are you feeding your petunias for them to be so lush and beautiful? They must be Proven Winners plants! I don't think you can beat their plants..they are worth the extra $.. When you deadhead the petunias, do you just pull the dried pod or pinch back further? Yep, it is a lot of work but worth it.

    ReplyDelete

    1. They are just regular petunias they just thrive on the miracle grow I feed them once a week. When I dead head I just pinch off the dead flower. Then they will re bloom. Thanks for your visit hope you come back to read this you are a no reply blogger so I had not way to email you back. Sorry. Have a great start to the new week.
