Cream additions to the Dining Room

Happy New Week.  I decided I would love to add some cream to the gray and white in my dining room.  Just some little touches here and there.

I had added this white ruffle awhile back to a couple of my dining chairs.  Well it was ok but I really was never too happy with the look.
Then I remembered I had this table cloth that had rows of ruffles in a sweet cream color.  So I began to think hmmmm....
can I re love these rows of ruffles onto my dining room chairs.

Yep these chairs just needed a little something.

So I thought this would be a good way to add some cream to the gray and white in the dining area.

Easy Peasy. Took the seat off of the chair.   I cut the rows of ruffles to fit each chair and then with a staple gun attached the ruffles to the seat of the chair.

Added the cushion seat back on the chair and now have a ruffle re love to these chairs.  Adding the cream to the gray and white  gave the chairs just a little touch of soft bling.

I was not sure if  I could make cream and gray and white mingle nicely together but I think I am really liking this marriage.

I  have added some creams to other area's of my dining space.

Just happy I could get another neutral color like cream to work with my gray and whites.

Hope you are having a great week.  Love the month of May.  It gets nice and warm here in Chicagoland and I can start to think about my summer flowers.  So excited to be starting the flowers this coming week end.  Traditionally I have always started my flowers on Mother's Day.  So hoping our weather stays true and warm and I can begin to see summer flowers coming to my outdoor space.

Have a wonderful week.
Kris

  8. You are so smart to think of doing that! I love how that turned out. I think that would be a great way to "cheat" to add ruffles to things (if I sewed) since I heard making ruffles can be hard. I love ruffles!

  12. I love the chairs - it works so well in your dining room. I know that you are itching to get out in your garden, plant your flowers and lounge around on you chaise lounge chair. Can hardly contain myself to see what you do in the garden. I got lots of inspiration from my garden tour
on Sunday. Wanted to come home and re-design my garden, but I did get a lot of ideas - how to implement them. With our drought going on it's hard as the dirt looks like I never water it and we have to conserve our water. It's not a win win situation.

I hope you are feeling great and not over doing it.
    Lots of get well hugs,
    Mary

  13. Kris,
Your neutral blend looks pretty and the ruffle is becoming your signature embellishmemt in your lovely home. Your cottage has a delightfully refreshing feel and your mix of architecturals and shabby makes for a beautiful home full of personality.

  14. Darling, and how easy just use the staple gun. I love it when no sewing is required. It's raining here today but will be nice again on Wednesday. I have things to get done in the garden still.

  19. As always, just wonderful! Can't wait to see what flowers you choose this year! I've got plenty of vinca planted, they actually grown nicely in the early summer here! My red bottle brush are already losing their blooms but they will stay green all year. Looking for a bit more color to add to my otherwise, dry, bland, rocky yard! Love to you sweet friend, Cindy

Love cream and white together...I so remember many years ago when we were building one of our homes that I had the builder place white cabinets with cream tops on the vanities...that way, I did not have to worry about the background of the wallpaper...white or cream...Just love the ruffled chair skirts...such a great idea and looks wonderful in the room....Love it all!
