A little Spring and Easter

Happy Friday everyone.

I wanted to share a few little Easter/Spring decor things I have gotten out.  I am still playing and moving things around.

I introduced you in my last post to this white bunny I found at Home Goods.

My front door has a sweet bunny to welcome you in.  Don't you love her little ballet shoes!

In the kitchen I have some playful white bunnies along with some carrots and easter basket.

The kitchen shelf needed some spring decor.

I found this pretty centerpiece at Kirklands.  I love the softness of the roses and the Spring ribbon.

My island bunny hopped into the living room and onto the expando matic table cabinet.

This picture is of our backyard.  It is in desperate need of a make over.  It has been a big mud pit and as Spring approaches it will only get worse.

We have used these plastic temporary fences to keep Peggy out of the mud areas.

Poor girl has to walk the plank!!! to go out and do her business.  Terry and I have been planning out what we want to do in this area come Spring.  We are thinking new sod, some pretty flowering plants and bushes and maybe a small patio or deck.  Anything will be an improvement from the mud pit out there now.

This is what I want to be looking at hopefully soon!!!!

Have a fabulous day today and wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Kris

  1. Kris, I love your Easter touches. Those little carrots. :):) Oh I absolutely hate muddy times too. I know with Tery's and your talents, you will have the sweetest backyard ever. I am ready for some flower pots here too. Blessings for a warmer weekend. xoxo , love, Susie

  4. I can't wait to see what you do to your yard. We had a small addition put on our house in late fall and our yard also looks like one bug mud pile. We live in a low lying flood plain ( or should I say it feels that way ). Your home looks so warm and festive for spring.

  8. So cute - love how the orange pops against the white!! I am so envious of your mud. I have at least 4' of snow in my yard and more on the way. MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!!!! lol I'm okay now... xoxoxo

  9. Your house is looking so pretty and springy! I've only done a couple of touches here and there. Just getting started. I hear you on the yard clean-up. Our yard is an insane mess. Every year the snowplow leaves a ton of rocks in our front yard, plus the ditch in front of our house (I hate that we have a ditch, but that's the way it is out here in the boonies - no sidewalks) is starting to erode. Other problems too with our front porch and sidewalk. Needless to say, a ton of work needs to be done. We can only afford to have a little done at a time and right now our priority is the front porch and sidewalk. We just discovered we have groundhogs living under our porch again. We have to have work done ASAP otherwise the animals will destroy our foundation. Anywho...I received your pkg in the mail yesterday. Thank you so much! That little purse is even cuter in person than it was in the photos. I didn't realize you were back in AH...for some reason, I thought you had bought your house more near Norridge. I don't know why I was thinking that, lol.

  11. I still love your white bunny! And still want to go get the one from Pier One. Allergies hit me this week so I've been dealing with that. blah. Your house looks so pretty!
LOL, at least Peggy walks the plank. Our yard needs help too but with two big dogs, it's a challenge! Bruce finally put some mulch down to try to keep the mud to a minimum. Can't wait to move to the farm...sandy soil vs. clay. So much easier to wipe off the dogs. :)
Happy Spring!! Have a great weekend!

  12. I'm sure you will have your garden of Eden soon enough. Sometimes a blank slate is better than having to hack out out a ton of scrub and trees. Grins, love your bunnies!

  14. Your pretty whites and neutrals are the perfect backdrop for bunnies and all things spring! And you are reminding me to start doing a little springifying!

I get you on the mud. I don't have a lot, but I'm seeing some little paw prints near my back door.

I hope you can add a little deck or patio. I know how you love to recline on that pretty chaise in the sun!

    Have a good weekend, Kris!

  15. KRIS! I missed this post in my haste to get to school yesterday...I can envision a plan here. I can see that you WILL make this place a paradise. Take one month or year at a time. It will happen.

  17. I love how just the slightest bit of color just pops in your white decor, Kris. What a great way to block off the mud pit with those temporary stakes. I can't wait to see your magic at work in this space. I know it'll be fantastic given your guys' track record. I bet you're so relieved to be where you are at this point compared to this time last year.

  18. Love your spring decor- the little island looks so cute with the island centerpiece. The front door wreath is adorable and I like how you decorated the shelves in the kitchen. Mudd is such a messy thing to deal with. Sounds like you’ve got a plan in place for the outdoor plantings. Winter keeps dragging it’s feet around here can’t wait for spring!

  19. I am sure your yard will be gorgeous this year! You might consider some type of ground cover that will absorb the moisture in the "pit" area, but what do I know?

  27. Hi Kris,
I just have to smile at sweet Peggy. What a sweet girl and there she is walking the plank. I just want to hug her for being so good about it. My Molly she hates mud in her old age. She is going to be 12 in May. She makes me laugh as she will avoid all mud and slush.
I am excited for you to start creating your outdoor space.
    xx oo

  28. Oh Kris... it all looks just darling! Love the little pops of color.. the orange, green and pink. What a dream to have an area of the home that is not cluttered at all... just full of pretty things.. but alas... we have to LIVE in our living room and dining room! so it's usually full of clutter and day to day living "stuff"! Oh well... I can look at yours and fantasize...... I think that little bench/shelf on top of your kitchen counter is just darling.. adds another dimension to the counter. Our backyard area is a nightmare.... our "lawn" used to be pretty good.. but the weeds have taken over.. our graveled area is growing the weeds now too.. it's too thin and just dirt under it and no landscape cloth so I will have the big weed fight to deal with pretty soon. I just want it to all be cement. Will be fun to see why you guys do with your yard area.. and yes.. you need your sweet cottage garden area with your lounge, trellis and roses! Take care.... Marilyn
