Front Porch Devotions

Hello Sweet Blogger Friends.

Happy Friday!

Thank you all for the sweet comments left about my foot recovery.  I am doing much better everyday.  Very bored being stuck at home but healing nicely.

Recently I received a beautiful gift from a dear angel friend.  I wanted to share this book review with you today here on the blog.

With being laid up this past week I have been reading a lot and this book is a great daily read.

As we all feel there is nothing quite like our front porch or even our back porches to get us to slow down the pace of our lives.

It is a place we can unwind from our day and take some quiet moments to reflect on things we do in our daily.

"Devotions from the Front Porch invites you to retreat from the busyness of everyday life.  The devotions in this book are centered on the front porch and home and are meant to soothe your soul".

This book takes everyday things we do and relates them to devotions that remind us that God with us in our every day lives.

Here are some examples from this beautiful book.

This book also has beautiful pictures of front porches throughout.

This is a beautiful gift and I have enjoyed reading the devotions throughout.

It does not matter what denomination you are it is  about connecting back to your inner soul  for peace and knowing that God is with all of us in our daily lives.

I highly recommend this book.  I did not receive any compensation for this book review.

I received this as a beautiful gift and wanted to share it with any of you that would find interest or want to give this as a special gift.

I have a copy I purchased and would like to offer it up as a give away as a thank you to all of you sweet bloggers.
If this is something you would love a chance to receive or even pass it on as a gift to someone special just leave me a comment.

Have a wonderful Weekend.

Now that my foot is better hoping this weekend   to finish up this new mantel.
I will have this to show you soon.
Hugs,
Kris

  3. Kris this is a sweet gift. I still wish we could have had the front porch we want for this home. Town ordinance said we didn't have enough room

Wonderful you are giving a copy of this pretty book. I did the same with Nora Murphy's book. I'd like to throw myself in the pot to win this book. We can all use reminders in life.

    Thanks dear friend

  24. Thank you for sharing this book with us all Kris. It looks to be the perfect book for you to have had during your convalescence. Your friend obviously knew that you would benefit from receiving it. So pleased to hear that you have been behaving and resting, giving your body (and soul) some much needed time to heal. I do think that it's true that it is all to easy to get ourselves weighed down by possessions. This has really come to light to me recently, whilst sorting through so very many possessions that we have both accumulated and not even looked at for almost 20 years. I have been more than happy to let go of about 80% of them. However, my husband has found it more difficult and has kept a much higher amount. Take care Kris x

  28. What a beautiful gift and a beautiful book! I love all of the pictures and how they speak to those every day things that WE all love like yard sales and repurposing! I don't have a very big porch but I still put a tiny table and chairs there in the summer and love sitting there (when the mosquitoes allow!) and watching the world go by. My favorite place is my screened in gazebo in back where the mosquitoes can't reach me...can't wait for THAT time to arrive. Glad you're feeling better each day!

We have a lot in common, my sweet friend. Your photos are gorgeous and I am so excited to see what you do with the fireplace. Glad you are on the road to recovery..xxoJudy

  32. That is a lovely book and ties in with I am planning a seating area made of flagstone in my front yard. This is my first visit here, I saw your comment on Diana's blog and I am glad you are recovering from your foot surgery.

  33. I know how boring it is being laid up after surgery! There's only so much TV you can watch and things you can read before you just want to get up and do stuff! I'm glad you're healing nicely though. What a gorgeous book...that is so sweet for you to be having a giveaway. xoxo

  34. That looks like a wonderful book and I would love it! I don't have a front porch (yet) but it is on my "to do" list! We only have a little "stoop" and a cement walkway, but have plans, hopefully this summer, for extending the stoop and making a little porch area. I have two antique wicker rockers stored at my sister's house that I would love to have on my porch. This book looks like it has beautiful photos and lovely stories and devotions and quotes. Glad you are healing and am excited to see what you do to your new fireplace! xoxoxo Marilyn

  42. Happy to hear you are recovering well and resting. What a beautiful gift during your recovery! The book looks like a wonderful read and timely as I'm on a blogging hiatus for a bit. Please don't include my name in the draw because sending packages to Canada is very expensive. I'll purchase a copy if it's available here. Take good care of that foot! xo
