Pantry and Farmhouse Window

Happy Sunday sweet friends.

We got the new pantry finished up and now I can start to unpack all the pantry stuff!  Happy Dance!
This is how this old German armoire looked when I bought it on Offer Up.

Terry re worked it into the space at the back of the kitchen to make a pantry/coat closet.

This is how it looked after he got everything to fit in place.
Adding some crown molding to finish the top.

New pantry painted white.

Added shelves for storage.

There is now a coat hanger.  When you live in small spaces you have to use every inch of space available.
I wish we did not have to have a coat closet but in Illinois we get this thing called winter and it is cold!
So coats are a must!!!

Found a place to hang up keys.

I finally found a place to hang my old farmhouse window in the living room entry.
I wanted to hang it over my loveseat on the living room wall.
The window was too tall.
I am glad it would fit inside this window.

I am working on getting the living room together.  I just got my new drapes and they look so pretty.  The blue and white floral pattern is gorgeous.
I cannot wait to show you.

Finishing touches now on each room.
Getting the kitchen finished, our bedroom and living room.

We just finished painting the office area.  Finally all the painting inside this house is done!!!!

Now it is just getting my decorating going and finishing up little things.

Have a great week ahead.
xoxo

  21. I knew it would all come together and be beautiful. Living in a small space is very challenging. My apartment is less than 600 square feet, but I love its coziness. xo Laura

  22. I love the armoire turned pantry and the adorable farmhouse window.

I laughed when you commented on living in small homes. Under the bed is one of my favorite spots for storage - found a roll out under the bed drawer at IKEA, but sadly the last one.

I have most of my shoes stored there. I have a friend who stores all her big platters underneath her living room sofa.

  23. Love, love, love the pantry! What a great idea!! It looks like it has always been there! I know what you mean about storage having to do "double duty". It's just the way it is in a small house, BUT, it makes you keep only the things that are really necessary and important and reduces clutter! Everything is looking great and I cannot wait to see the rest! Love and hugs!

  40. I love your pantry! I think we need to rethink our own pantry that actually was the coat closet in this house. RH put the shelves up without even painting the wall since I was in such a hurry to get things out of boxes when we moved. But you are so right, in a small house every inch must count. I even have all my baking pans and pyrex casseroles stored in a large cherry cabinet by the front door. What I love about everything you and Terry do is that it looks like fabulous original built-ins.
