Give Away and Charity Girlfriend Party

Last night was my Girlfriend Charity Party.  We get together each year and celebrate our friendships and wear our cute themed pajamas.
Each girl brings a gift for exchange that benefits a Charity of their choice.  It is always so heartwarming to see the beautiful gifts and the stories shared about why they give to this charity.

We play games, eat, drink and just have a lot of fun.

This year with my home being so small I had it at a venue.  It was a cute garden room.  Even though it was 7 degrees outside we felt warm inside surrounded by pretty garden items.

We all sat around the pond for this picture.

I started this party over 20 years ago when my girls were still very young.  Now that they are both grown they bring their friends to this party too.  It is just a fun night to share our friendships.

As you can see next to me on the sofa is Diana (Nana Diana).  Diana brings her two daughters to the party.

They are Mindy the 4th over from the right in the back row, my daughter Kimmie next to Mindy and then Tara Diana's other daughter on the other side of Kimmie.  My older daughter Jen is the one in the first row without slippers on 5th over on the right.
The room was so pretty.  I wish I had more pictures but I got so busy and everyone else was having fun and forgot to.  Take my word this garden room is gorgeous.

Now for the Give Away!

I gave each girl a "In A Pikle" bag.  These are life savers.
You can put this bag in your purse or glove compartment of your car or desk drawer at work or just wear it as a wristlet.

In case you are ever in a "pikle" and need something for an emergency you have it in this bag.

Each bag contains flashlight, sewing kit, bandages, Tylenol, bobbie pins, shout outs etc.

Great for any emergency at your desk at work, while in your car or just out and about.  If you have one of these in your purse, glove compartment, or desk drawer at your office you will be prepared for just about anything.

I bought these for each of the girls when In A Pikle was doing their charity drive.  Proceeds went to charity.
Each girl also got a goodie bag with chocolates, this cup to go coffee cup and a Starbucks gift card.

If you would like to be in this giveaway all you have to do is sign up for my posts to come into your email.  Just leave me a message that you have done this.  Make sure you are going to the right side of my side bar to sign up for email not the contact above on my blog.   That is it easy peasy.

  10. Love the new look to the blog, Kris. Linda truly is THE Fairy Blog Mother. She is so helpful and always answers questions.

Anyway- We had a BALL at your party (as always)..and thank you for including my daughters. They love coming there, too. However, wish I had combed my hair before Mr.JunkChic took pictures.

And, for all you gals that don't know- her hubby, Terry, is the sweetest man. As my Mindy said, "Terry has such kind eyes"....perfect eyes for a kind, sweet soul. Also, Kris is even more beautiful in person because her personality is part of her 'looks' if that makes sense. She is a riot in real life...and we have lots of laughs together. Good thing we don't live closer for I fear we would be a wicked match.

Love ya, Kris-Thanks again. I am going to go pamper myself with a bit of my gift exchange. xo xo xo xo

  14. KRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a gorgeous job Linda did on your blog! Kudos to her! I was pleasantly surprised to open up your page to see your signature blue and white here and to see that your party got off to a wonderful start! At first I was thinking, "That doesn't look like Kris's house!" Oh YOU are so generous to not only plan each gift and offering of food but to get an entirely different venue...bless your soul my friend. I'm sure it was a great night out!

  26. I love how you are still doing this and now your daughters bring their friends. What fun! I want to find a local charity to support with a portion of my art sales. I'm checking into some. I think it's so important!

  27. You girls certainly did it up right and for a good cause even. I don't really belong to any groups that gets together like that and I think it is an evening that most women need. We forget after girl scouts, high school and sororities how important groups of women are in our lives. It is wonderful to bring your daughters in and make it something to share and hand down.

  36. Kris, what a great party theme! I've hosted a number of My Favorite Things Parties and this might be just the next great theme I was looking for. In the past, several people brought items that benefited and charity and so maybe we can expand on it now.
