Vintage Garden Bike

Hello and Happy Friday.
Today I am going to show you a Vintage Schwinn bike I found on FaceBook MarketPlace.   I plan on putting it in my garden by the she shed.
I am also going to show you some of my vintage garden  bikes from the past.

This is the sweet little deal I found on FB Marketplace.  It is an old Schwinn that is pink and white and rusty in all the right places.

It has all the original things on it.  The bell on the handle bars and the old light and wire basket.  I was so excited to find this and talk the guy down on price and get it for my garden.

Look at that sweet bell on the handle bars.  It works too!  Love all the vintage parts are still on this and original to the bike.
This is my white bike when we lived in Junk Chic Cottage number One.  Loved the blue and white flowers.

This was my blue bike in my garden setting from JCC # 1.

Loved this vintage cream bike I had on the deck with flowers in JCC #2.

This is my vintage bike that was inside JCC #2.

This is my bike in the front garden of my JCC#3 home.

I cannot wait to get this one fixed up for JCC#4 this year.  The only thing missing on this bike was a seat.  Not sure if I will try and find another seat or just put overflowing flowers in a basket on the back of the bike.   It will overflow where the seat would normally be so it will not be missed.
Started to go to my favorite Garden Shop for my flowers.  I have gotten some but they are going to have to go into the garage tonight with the fear of really cold weather.  Hopefully by Sunday the weather will begin to warm up and I can hopefully start to plant this coming week.

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day.
May we all begin to see improvement in our states from the virus and the weather all around the US will begin to get warm and stay warm.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful mom's and grandmother's and Furbaby mom's.

  1. Wowsers, woman...

I wish we lived close by. You are inspiring me to do something with my old white vintage bike but GRRRR Mr. R. doesn't want me to put out too much. It would be PERFECT in our garden!

Each styling you have done is exceptional. What works here is the abundance of colors you have oozing from the baskets and I know you are going to have something very special for your new pink and white beauty! BRAVO!!!

  2. Good morning, Kris! I have my vintage Schwinn bike from when I was a little girl in my garage. I usually put it amongst the lilies growing beside our patios and then fill the front basket with flowers. Never got around to it last year, but this year I will. Thanks for the reminder! It's crazy how cold it is today and will be all weekend. It feels more like March! Have a good weekend and happy Mother's Day!

  8. First of all, Happy Mother's Day! Love your new bike and enjoyed looking at past bikes all decked out with beautiful flowers. We are expecting a freeze tonight which means the Urban Farmer will be covering everything that can't be brought into the garage. I fell on our driveway a week ago so I'm no help at all. Asking for prayer for my neighbor Karen who did a face plant in our local Meijer store yesterday. She said her mask was covered in blood. Probably will be sporting a couple of black eyes. Enjoy your Mother's Day weekend! xoxo

  11. What are the pink flowers in the next to last photo? You always make these vintage bicycles look beautiful. I don't think I have room for one more thing on my patio so I won't be looking for one. Happy Mother's Day! I guess we won't get taken out for lunch this year, huh?

  12. Happy Mother's Day to you too, Kris. What a sweet bicycle. I can't wait to see it all planted up! What became of your other bikes? I'm guessing you had to sell them? I was looking at my curb rescue bike the other day. I still need to repaint it. I got lime green to paint the studio door so I just may do that to my bike...not sure yet. I hope your weather warms up to stay soon. I'd be going crazy if I wasn't able to garden right now!

  16. LOL, as soon as I saw the bike, the first thing I thought of was you putting a basket for a seat filled with flowers. Imagine how gorgeous and different that would be!

    Can't believe the weather.

Love this sweet bike and look forward to see how you style it!! I am dying to go and buy flowers but it is too early here and we actually had snow in the higher elevations here in Saturday!! Since I only bought basics last year because of my knee surgery, I hope to experiment more this year with my flowers...Happy Mother's Day!!

  31. Wow, you have had a lot of vintage bikes which I assume you must of left behind? I would not of let one of them go and would of lined them up to form a fence of sorts. I have even seen old bikes used as a porch railing. I have one that is bright red. I am not so much a red person so it waits patiently for me to change the color. I am inspired after seeing your beautiful bikes.
