Thank you

Thank you everyone for all your good thoughts and prayers for my mom and my family.  This past week was a hard one as my mom passed to her heavenly home.  She fought hard to stay but in the end she passed peacefully and is now out of pain.  She could feel the power of prayer as she made her way out of this world and into heaven.  I thank all of you.

I have to pack up her apartment and finish closing some of her affairs and then I think I can begin to grieve this loss.  My faith is strong and it has helped me and my family say goodbye.  RIP mom.

  5. Dear dear friend,

I'm weeping over here for several reasons, one of them, the obvious.

I weep because your mom indeed "fought hard." It is admirable in my estimation, when a person gives it all they've got to LIVE to the end. Whether that means to insist they live and pass in their own home or whether it means to keep on moving and creating or engaging in conversation, opinions and decisions. I admire that. Your mom fought hard.

There is a family member in my life going through something similar. While this person's actions can be perceived as stubborn and exhausting, there is something to be said about this person's last ditch efforts to feel significant, able, ALIVE. Bravo to anyone who keeps on going until the light is lit on the other side of this life.

Love you Kris. You have been and are a devoted friend who is always there, for everyone.

  10. Kris, I am so sorry to hear of your Mothers passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Having gone through this recently with the passing of my husbands father and then again two months later with the passing of my husbands stepmother I know the stress in having to pack up a home and handle affairs after not one but two losses so close together. This fell on my husband as executor and although it went relatively well it really was tough on him packing up their belongings. May God give your comfort and strength in the weeks ahead.

  24. Kris I’m so sorry to hear that your beautiful mom passed this week. She must have been quite a woman to have raised a daughter such as you....one of the sweetest and most genuine bloggers I know.
I lost my dad 7 months ago. I cried this morning as I took my morning walk...out of the blue. My mom always said’ life is but a blink of an eye’ . You will see your mom again, but for now she will watch over you.

  28. Hi Kris,
So very sorry to hear about your Mom. I know from experience this is a bitter/sweet time. On the one hand, you don't want to lose them, but on the other hand you can't stand to see them suffering. knowing they are gonna be with the Lord and will experience no more pain or suffering and they are in a much better place than we are
and that we will indeed them again, is the best comfort there is.....
Praying for you hon during this difficult time.
    Love and Hugs,
    Nellie

  31. Thinking of you, Kris. Hoping you're taking care of yourself. Two of my sisters in Florida were there to be through the final days with our mother when the shutdown just happened and I know how hard it was for them. Grieving goes on a long time, even when it becomes less sharp. I looked at my calendar the other day and there was a note: Mail Mom's birthday card. It hurt so much to see it and know I wouldn't be putting it on the calendar from now on. I'm so glad you have loving family around you during this hard time. Take care.
