Bathroom Beginnings

We painted the bathroom and hung up some decor.  We have a couple more projects to have the bathroom done but for the most part is is complete.

I hung up my white shower curtain over the glass doors to bring some softness in the space.

The shower was done in marble tiles and pretty light blue and white tiles.  The previous owner just finished this bathroom before selling.

I hung up this cute vintage ceiling tile to hold the hand towel.

The vanity is pretty with a granite top.  This bathroom really needs a pocket door with how funky it opens into this space.  Since that is a big project we decided to take the existing door or find a cooler vintage door and hang it to slide instead of opening up like a normal door.  The space between the vanity and wall where I have the hand towel hanging should be enough space for the door to travel when opening.  Stay tuned for that change.

Hung up some of my previous decor from my old house.  Looking for a chandelier to hang on the main ceiling.  The hunt is on to find a great chandelier for in this bathroom.  The bathroom is a good size.  Of course as many of you know a bathroom is the hardest room to get good pictures.
The walls are painted in bit of sugar Behr paint.  The marble tiles throughout are gray.

All the rooms are painted and mostly completed.  We are waiting on some things to come in so we can finish off decorating.

Whites are hard to show on blogs.  You just have to trust me when I say this room is bright and airy with the whites and grays.

Hope your Memorial Day weekend has been great.
Have a good week
Hugs,
Kris

  2. Gosh Kris, your bathroom is looking so beautiful. I particularly love the use of that vintage ceiling tile for holding the hand towel. I have been wondering how to cover up the marks where we took down a very tired wall rack within our shower cubicle. This idea would sort it out perfectly. Thanks for sharing those beautiful photos. Hugs, Gilly

  4. Good morning Kris! Yes, bathrooms are really hard to photograph but I can get the picture, knowing the hard work and care with which you transform a space! What a great idea to soften the glass shower door with a curtain!

Enjoy this holiday and then let's get into June with some sunshine on your backs!

  5. That's a beautiful bathroom - the shower is great with the grab rail already installed. I think a sliding door will be a good solution to take care of what you see as the awkwardness.

  8. Love love love everything Kris!! This is a bathroom I wouldn't mind just taking my time in and making sure my makeup is perfect as I enjoy the surroundings! I've picked up so many "think outside the box" ideas from you through the years. Your ceiling tile towel hanger is awesome! Have a wonderful blessed holiday & week! Edie Marie

  10. Oh my goodness! Kris, I absolutely love this bathroom. It's just so beautiful. The vanity is gorgeous, and am I right that the mirror above the vanity is the one you had in the master bedroom of your last home? The one that inspired me to do a layered mirror? (Which, by the way, I have almost completed and will be hanging soon). Anyhoo, it looks fabulous with the vanity. The antique ceiling tile with the towel ring is charming. Well, everything is charming, as always. You rock! Have a great week! Hugs.

  11. The bathroom looks gorgeous Kris. I like how you put a curtain over the shower door and the idea of a sliding door for the bathroom. You and Terry are working so hard to make the condo look beautiful. I hope you have a nice day and week Kris.

  12. Well having that touch of light blue is right up your alley. In your previous house I recall you used that as an accent color.

  14. The previous owner did a nice job of redoing the bathroom. Classic colors and materials, nothing odd or funky to work around. Your pretty white shower curtain softens the shower area. A vintage door would be perfect to replace the existing door and installed as a sliding door. Love the toilet paper holder and stand with the shelf. I checked on Amazon and did not find one like yours but found one that has a stand for a tablet. Electronics follow us everywhere! ha!

Hope your weekend is going well. It is cool and cloudy here today, perfect for weeding pulling and strawberry picking. xoxo

  15. great idea to hide the glass door with the curtain but keep the glass door. Seems all I ever do is take my shower curtain down to wash it and put it back again.

Love the look of your bathroom!

  19. Kris, I love what you are doing. The ceiling tile for the towel hanger is really a special touch. I like the idea of the sliding door and glad you have room for one. Most baths are too small for a door that takes up good space. It is looking wonderful..Hope you had a great weekend..xxoJudy

  20. Beautiful! I really like the white and grey in here and the shower tiles are so pretty! I did that too one time, covered the glass doors with a shower curtain. It made it much prettier. Y'all are making such progress! Can't wait to see more! Hope you're having a nice holiday weekend! Hugs!

  24. It looks just great, Kris. I can tell it is really bright. The slider door sounds like a really good idea. I love pocket doors but they are a nightmare to install if they aren't put in with a full remodel or when the place is being built. A sliding door sounds like a great 'fix'. xo Diana

  25. Beautiful as always. I love my glass doors, the feeling of space they give my very tiny bathroom. However, after seeing yours and that lovely curtain, I might need to cover them up this summer for a little bit of bright softness. Can't wait to see that chandelier!! xxoo

  32. Serene......

I think all colors are hard to show, in blogging. They often do not look, like they look in real life to us. And then, we never know, how they will show up, on each Blogger's computer, etc. It's a bit of a lost cause. -smile-

Anyway, what I see is lovely!

    Gentle hugs
