Tiny House Living

Tiny House Living is becoming more and more popular.  With the housing market being so crazy with low inventory and bidding wars some people are opting to live in the Tiny Homes.

This is one of the models that you can have built and delivered to your plot of land.  These make great guest homes, beach houses and lake cottage homes or a forever home.

Most of them have open concept layouts to make the 620 sq. feet of living feel spacious.  I love this layout.  The kitchen is open to the living room and they built in an island for extra storage, food prep and just sitting and having your meals.

Leaving some of the windows up high give you lots of natural light and still leaves you with privacy without having to cover up your windows.  This model has the automatic sheer type shades and blinds that work off a remote and are hidden during the day and come down from behind the window casing for privacy at night.  These shades allow you to see out but no one to see in.  Genius!

The master bedroom is spacious enough for a king size bed.

The bathroom is also full size and spacious.

These tiny homes start completely built to your liking and delivered to you from $62,000.  If you can enjoy the cozy comforts of being in small quarters these are a good option.

I will put in the link to this and the many different models.  This particular company only delivers to Texas, Okla., California and Oregon for now.  There are however other builders of these tiny homes that build and deliver in other parts of the country and Canada.

I just think these are a great alternative type of living if you do not want the condo scene or upkeep of a home.  All of these homes are smart homes and are energy efficient.

This is not an affiliate link these are just some of the cute and tiny homes I have been looking at and admiring.  Thinking this could be a nice summer home for us to build on a lake for retirement years.

I have been working on a new project for our bedroom.  I hope to have that done in a few days to share with you.  I will give you a hint it has to do with old vintage frames.  Have a great new week.

  1. Cute! With everything you'd need for a second home. THis would be great for a lakeside. We have those type shades throughout our entire condo, but they are a double - the second one being room darkening. I love them.

  2. Funny, I've been looking at tiny homes too. It amazes me how much can be put in small spaces. It would be fun to add one to the farm for a guest cottage. Maybe someday. It would make a great vacation spot! Have a great week.

  6. Those are great tiny homes. I never liked the ones where the bedroom was a loft and you could not stand up in them.

  7. I could be very happy in that tiny home, which is bigger than my first apartment in NYC! I love your idea of summer home. I bet they cost more here in the northeast, but it sounds like fun to check it out.

  10. I have wanted to get one of these in the past. Nowhere to put it at this time. Oklahoma has to catch up with the rest of the country first. I've called around before and where to put one is always the problem.

  13. So cute and they look very specious for how small they are. That would be perfect for a lakeside retreat or even a cabin in the woods.

  14. I enjoyed this read. Tiny houses are something I have been reading about and thinking it is doable, but not sure I'd want to. Anyways, this is a great post you have shared.

  15. I love the idea of a tiny house except for when there's bad weather. Then I'm not so sure. But I love the concept!

  16. Kris, as much as I love my Cottage, my dream is to sell it and buy a "manufactured home" in a nice park. I would really love to do that. This little place is the cutest I have seen. A piece of land in California is a big problem as far as the pocket book goes. If I were younger I would go for it though..Happy Summer..xxoJudy

  17. Tiny homes are great for lake cabins because of the low upkeep! The one you've featured is so cute! I like the clerestory windows for the light. I can't wait to see your new project. I know that it is just beautiful!

  19. Oh I would love to have one of those tiny homes at the beach! But, my girls would rather I have a huge place so they all could come with their families! LOL! They are so many darn cute ones to look at too. Have a good week dear Kris. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  25. Well, my friend, you know I like small living. I wanted to put a tiny house in my son's backyard when I moved here, and my son and DIL were onboard with it. However, city codes don't allow for it. So, that ended that idea. I've got more space than I need now. 1,200 sf is really more than I want. Having said that, I'm not complaining. I'm happy and content with what I have. I still love tiny homes, though, and the one you shared is a beauty. Hugs.
