Pretty Chandelier and Kitchen Progress

I got this pretty chandelier from my friend Mark that owns
Warehouse 55 a great vendor shop near me.

Mark has a great collection of chandeliers throughout the shop.  This was from his personal collection and he let me buy it from him.  I thought it would be great over my faux fireplace and mirror.

It is very pretty lit at night.

Progress is coming along in the kitchen with opening the wall up.  We covered that ugly pipe with wood to make a column.

My chippy bird house arrived and my Antique sign.  I will be making that signed part of the back of the island and will frame it out pretty.

The birdhouse will sit on a corbel hopefully on the post to bring a little bling to the post.

The long plank will be part of the top of the new island.  I have some half chippy posts that you can almost see in the lower right corner that will be made into part of the island too.

Hope to get this done this weekend and will have it to show you.

I am loving all the light and air flow into the kitchen with the opening to the kitchen made bigger.

One more request from you blogging prayer warriors.

Prayers please for my SIL.

He had a seizure last Saturday for the first time in his life while out cutting the grass.  Neighbors walking by found him not breathing on the side of their home.
God puts the right people in our paths when we need them most.

He has been in the hospital having every test under the sun run to find out why.  Nothing has come back to indicate why he had this seizure.  The neurologist is thinking maybe with him coming off shift from the fire department where he got little sleep with running emergency calls all night.
Being tired, drinking a lot of coffee, a monster drink and going out in the heat to mow the lawn could have been the cause.
They just are not sure.
I am happy all the tests are negative for anything serious for a cause of a seizure.

He is home now and recouping and seeing the neurologist tomorrow to see what they will say about him returning to his job.

With him being a firefighter/paramedic he may not be able to drive for months.
Prayers please that he can resume his job and this was an isolated incident.

Life can change on a dime my friends.

Have a great rest of this week and good weekend.  I cannot wait to show you the final kitchen re do.
Hugs,
Kris

  3. Just prayed for your SIL❤

I'm sure you're tired of all your moves over the past few years but, personally, I've loved watching you put your special touch on each of the homes. This one is a definite favorite, and I love that you thought of making that kitchen opening ... what a difference! Debbie in Oregon

  6. Such a pretty chandelier and kitchen progress is looking wonderful...

I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL. The same thing happened to a young adult friend of our family...she drank some Mountain Dews then an energy drink and she had a seizure! She no longer consumes caffeine. I hope that they find this is the same scenario with your SIL and nothing else underlying.

  7. The chandelier is gorgeous. And the light in the kitchen must be welcome.

My brother-in-law had the same type of seizure - unknown cause. Unfortunately they would not let him drive for 6 months.

  11. Hello dearest friend,

I love how Terry was able to create a box pillar. It looks SO good and is a great way to cover up a pole! The chandelier looks marvelous in front of the mirror and I bet it IS gorgeous at night. May all go well for your entire family. Thank God that they didn't find any serious cause for the seizure. This heat is unbearable.

    1. Hi Pamela,
I got the sign on a site called Walls of wisdom. Liz Marie has one that she bought from a lady at the market show a few years ago. This site makes them in any size. They have a lot of cool signs so go and visit them. You can click on the Walls of Wisdom and it will take you to their site. Have a good weekend. xoxo Kris

  26. If you drink a monster drink too fast you can have swallow syncope and pass out. I wonder if that had something to do with it? It’s a multifactorial situation. I just prayed for him.
I love love love your chandelier.

    1. Thank you Susan. I wish they would band those drinks. He was up all night running calls and was tired and drank that and Starbucks to keep going to cut the grass. Not a good combo. We are hoping that was the cause since everything else is negative. xoxo

He will be in my prayers this week-end.
... men, they do not hydrate properly, loading up of coffee and sugar drinks. My hubbs comes in drained and I immediately hand him the water. and sit, and a shower. I am relieved to know that the tests so far show nothing alarming

  37. Praying for SIL. I really don't not like those drinks. We visited a church in East Texas. The pastor out there drank one and had a stroke. They are terrible. Hopefully, this is an isolated incident and he can get back to work. Love the sign. Opening up the kitchen is a great idea.

  42. So funny- I just left a comment on your earlier post about the kitchen and told you what we did with the support thing and you did the same thing. lol. Great minds! I love that it lets light into your kitchen and we get some with the opening, too. I do wish I had a kitchen window for the extra light though. These interior kitchens are too dark.

As you know, I am praying for Tim & Jen. Life is just full of unexpected things! UGH. xo Diana
