Kitchen Wallpaper

Our kitchen in the new condo has been a work in progress.  So much had to be changed in this kitchen since we moved in last May.  I had been looking for some kind of wallpaper to give a little pattern and texture to the soffits and one wall in the kitchen.

I found this gray and white buffalo check.

Excuse the door frames not being on the wall to look finished.
We are still waiting on this door in the kitchen and the front door to be replaced.

When they had the fire across the hall the firefighters kicked in this door and the front door and they are custom doors so we have been waiting for months for the replacements.

My patience with the one and only company that makes these doors is wearing very thin.

Hopefully soon we will have the doors replaced and new moldings put back up.

The plain wall and soffits just needed a little something.

The buffalo check seems to work in this kitchen.  Keeping it real with the dog leash, purse etc lol!!!!  I am sure once the new door and trim are put up the wallpapered wall will look even better.

The soffits just needed a little something.

The farmhouse wallpaper is up to give just a little bling to the one wall and soffits.

Have a great rest of the week.
Hugs,
Kris

  7. Kris, it is beautiful, and I love the large size of the buffalo check! I have wallpaper in our home, so it makes me happy to see other bloggers who like it, too. Your kitchen is so cute!

I have neighbors still waiting for windows, and the tornado hit on March 25th. Your patience will be rewarded, My Friend!

  11. You ALWAYS find a solution, my friend! It worked out really well. I have to admit I am not good with envisioning wallpaper patterns and you really nailed it with this buffalo check. It adds just the right amount of warmth but it doesn't close in the space. Well done!!!

  13. That wallpaper is perfection! Love the look. Sorry about your door delays - what a pain!! My washing machine died and I opted to buy an expensive model just because I could take delivery in 3 weeks instead of waiting until Christmas. COVID GO AWAY FOR GOOD AND TAKE YOUR DELAYS WITH YOU!!! lol Have a happy week! xoxoxo

  16. Love it all. I was wondering about the light fixture. Is this also a fan? If so,do you like it? We need to replace some ceiling fans and I have seen ones like this but did not know how much they moved the air. Also where did you purchase it. Thanks. Tracy

    1. Hi Tracey. The light fixture is a fan. I had ceiling fans but in this kitchen it is a must. So I found this light fixture that has the fan blades up inside to keep them from getting dirty. I found this at HomeDepot. Here is the link. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Home-Decorators-Collection-Brette-II-23-in-LED-Indoor-Outdoor-Brushed-Nickel-Ceiling-Fan-with-Light-and-Remote-Control-AM382B-BN/308642360? It is so quiet. Thanks for your visit and question. Hugs. Kris

  21. This wallpaper is absolutely perfect. It just makes the space pop. Love the buffalo check at one point I had a burgundy buffalo check in my kitchen so it makes me happy to see it in yours. You have such a knack for putting things together this condo has really come along way you should’ve been a decorator!

  23. You nailed it Kris! Plus the wooden countertops photographed beautifully. How do you clean them? Are they sealed? Very pretty.

    1. Hi Susan. I did not seal them I just use butcher block oil on them every three or 4 months to keep them from getting dry. Otherwise I leave them alone. That is the beauty of butcher block. I do not cut or do food prep right on my counters so I did not seal them. If you want to use your countertops like chopping boards for food prep you would have to seal them. I just do not like suffocating off the wood. I love the way the butcher block oil keeps them looking nice. Hope that answers your question. xoxo

    1. Hi Monica,
We got the light/fan fixture at Home Depot. It is quiet and runs by remote if you choose. I have to have a ceiling fan in my kitchen to move air but I hate fan blades getting so greasy and dirty in kitchens so this was a good choice. The fan air is pushed and no fan blades to get dirty. Hope that helps. xoxo

  26. This is gorgeous Kris, I love it!

I wonder if it's the supply chain holding up your doors? It's been a long time. I'd be annoyed too.

  28. The wallpaper looks really good, Kris! It adds such a warm and cozy touch to your kitchen. I can't find the exact same ceiling fan at Home Depot Canada 😢 but they do offer something similar, not as pretty though. We're embarking on a master bedroom/half bath makeover and I can't wait to install the fan.
