Kitchen sink lights/St. Patty's Day Idea

I found little St. Patrick's Day pots at the dollar store.  I put in lottery scratch off tickets and a lucky penny to scratch them.

I tied them off with a cello bag and green ribbon.

For my younger two grand girls.  I gave them some money and lucky charm items and some chocolate coins and candy.

I gave each of them Green River.  Tradition here in Chicago is to dye the river green for St. Patrick's Day.  So this old fashion soda was a cute idea to add.

Easy peasy little St. Patrick's Day gift.

This is where the cabinet was over my sink.  I really needed better lighting in my kitchen especially over my sink.  I had this great chandelier and it's larger mate.

I hung a nice chandelier over the sink and put a chippy framed mirror behind it to reflect light.

I hung her sister chandelier above in the ceiling of the kitchen.

Next will be hanging white crown molding around the kitchen.  I think it will finish the kitchen off nicely.

Hope all is going well for you.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Kris

  7. Oh my I love all your St. Patty day ideas. Green River soda is so appropriate as I live in a nearby suburb of Chicago and worked for many a year in the city and would see the rivery turn green for the big day. Going to see if I can find those little pots at my Dollar Tree and make them for my kiddos along with the soda. Thank you for sharing.

  18. Such cute St. Patty's day ideas! You always come up with the darlingest (a word?) things! Oh.. the Green Rivers! I haven'et seen those for years and years. When I was a child growing up in Portland, OR, we would go to the corner "drug store" as they were called.. and have a green river, right from the fountain. I LOVED those! After I grew up, I never heard of them again. Now and then, if I was travelling, I would see some in some small minit mart and would buy some. What memories! And your kitchen nook above your sink looks darling. Love the chandy and makes me want one too! It sure does sparkle up your kitchen! Hugs.. Marilyn

  20. What darling and creative gift ideas you thought of for your granddaughters! And pretty chandeliers in your kitchen. Good idea to hang a mirror there to reflect light since you don't have a window over the sink. You and Terry would have a ball in my house...there's SOOO much that needs to be done and neither one of us are handy!

  21. What sweet, sweet St. Paddy day gifts. Did you know I had an Uncle Paddy? Patrick was his middle name so father always called him Paddy. Love the Irish area I grew up in. I might kinda still believe in leprechauns. lol
That turned out fantastic over your sink. I love it-and what a great idea that was -with your inspiration and Terry's abilities you are a perfect match.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend---xo Diana

  22. Oh my goodness, I just love the chandelier and mirror in the sink area! It really opens up that sink area, and makes it just sparkle! I think crown molding will really set off your lovely kitchen! Fun St. Patrick's Day gifts! My daughter was born on St. Patrick's Day! Although we are not Irish, I do enjoy the corned brisket and cabbage meal so very much! Have a blessed weekend!
