Midsummer Cottage Flowers

My mid summer flowers are doing pretty well even with the oppressive  heat and humidity.
My Geranium's are doing well.  Geraniums love the heat and humidity.

My petunias are thriving with getting lots of sunshine.  I have three little hummingbirds that visit each day and love the pink petunias.

I am amazed at my bags this year.  They are bigger than any I have had in the past.  I feed all the flowers with miracle grow once a week and supplement with a bloom booster.  It is working well with all of my flowers.

I have my little sitting area off the front of the house to read and enjoy the flowers and sunshine.

The Pop Stars and Betty Whites around my front tree are filling in nicely.

I have planted daisies, lavender, yellow begonias, and periwinkle vinca in the flower beds.  I am experimenting with what will survive the deer, bunnies and squirrels.  So far so good.
The knock out roses along the white fence have been slow to bloom.   Knock out roses are easy peasy and require little
maintenance.   I have been dead heading hoping they will continue to bloom through out the summer and into the fall.  Sometimes the first season of knock out roses are less blooming and in following years will begin to fill in and bloom more.

My painted bike is holding up well in the garden.

I think next year I will concentrate more on filling in the front beds now that I know what the wild life around here likes and dislikes.

We are finally cooling down here in Illinois and having beautiful less humid days.

Hope you all have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Kris
