Mirror Mirror On The Wall and Found Cottage Mercantile Market

Hard to believe summer is over and fall is coming.  I am a summer girl and love the heat and sunshine.  Fall is usually great here in the midwest but I would love to hold onto summer a little longer.

Terry and I spent the weekend in Michigan and went to
The Found Cottage Mercantile Market.  It is all outdoors market and is every Labor Day Weekend.

Here are a few pictures of all the treasures to be found at the Mercantile.

I saw this witch made out of vintage things and an old mannequin.

I have an upcoming girlfriend party where we are all going to be witches.  I have an old mannequin similar to this one so I am going to use things I have to make her up for the party.  I will show you that in a latter post.

As you can see the wallpaper is gone and new paintable textured wallpaper is going up.  We also got crown molding to hang so stay tuned for another post with all of this accomplished.
The long mirror now sits in my dining room and reflects the chandelier and lets in a lot of light.

These antique mirrors of all sizes and shapes have been collected and will be added to the wall after the paper and crown is finished.  I will have that in a future post.

Here is an inspiration picture of gallery wall mirrors.  Mirrors very similar to the ones I have.

Remember the last post when I showed you those pesky bud worms that ate a lot of my beautiful flowers.  Well I have taken care of that problem and was worries with it being the end of the season I might not be able to get the bags to bloom.

Well with a little bit of TLC and the help of bloom booster they are coming back around.  Not as beautiful as they were but they are trying to hang on a little longer.

Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend.  It was so nice to get away to the Mercantile Market and see my little grandson that lives in Michigan now.  We got him an electric guitar so he is a rock star now.

  7. Awww, he’s so cute! I know you enjoyed seeing that sweet grandson. Can’t wait to see your project all finished. The mirror wall will be spectacular. The girlfriend party sounds like a blast with its witchy theme. I know you’re sad to see Summer ending. Our summer has been fairly mild so I’m not sick of it like usual but I’m an autumn girl through and through so I’m very excited for the seasons to change!

  10. I'm sure the little grandson's parent cursed you and that guitar as soon as you left and were out of earshot. Maybe next visit you can go all out and get him a kareoke machine and air horn. 🤬

    1. Oh how wonderful you are back. Was hoping that you moved on or better got happy in your life and did not need to go on others posts with your nasty personality. This was a toy guitar with kids music that comes out of it. I guess because you are so unhappy you would not think of anything happy for a child. Please again move on or better yet get happy and kind that is what we need in this world. I pray for you every time you come here that you can find love and kindness in your heart. You make my heart sad that you are so unhappy and miserable in your life.

  18. Oh Kris, Edmund is a doll! Hahaha, I bet mom & dad are thrilled with you getting him an electric guitar (why not drums, too, hehe). Love the Found Cottage market you're sharing, and I think the witch idea on the mannequin will be a great hit at your party. Love, love, love the wall of mirrors and can't wait to see the latest transformation. The hanging plants are doing fabulously! Good job, plant doctor!

  19. Hahahahaha-I hardly EVER read previous comments but I see your miserable 'friend' is back that is too chicken to sign her real name so goes by Anonymous....and leaves a nasty message. You can trace her IP # you know and then you would know who it is.

Edmund is so darned cute. I could just hug him. Adorable. Love that he is a rock star--just like you!

What a great shopping adventure. I would be on sensory overload with all there is to see there. That first picture of the black and all neutrals is amazing! I love the look! Can't wait to see your mirror gallery wall and your crown molding up. It's looking good, Kris.

Still hoping I can be 'witching' with you. I'll let you know in the next week for sure. Love ya- Diana

  20. What a fun time you had Kris! I love that outdoor market, and I WANT those pink cowboy boots! I always see so much I want, but have no room for. Your mirror wall will look great I'm sure.. your inspiration photo shows it so well. Yes I agree, summer is passing way too quick. I still think of it as "summer" though we've had cooler weather. My flowers are all doing well, except the deer came into my little yard and ate most of my strawberries! I still have tons of cherry tomatoes, Walla Walla sweet onions (though they got shaded by the tomatoes) and lemon cukes. Such a fun harvest! My flowers are looking a little drier as I don't water them as much as I should. Oh congrats on getting rid of those bugs! Your hanging basket/bag came back beautifully! We've had some cool days but next week it'll be back up in the 80's and I'm happy about that! Take care.........Marilyn
