New Year New Changes

This is where I had my Christmas tree.  Now that is down I am on the hunt for a sweet chair for this spot.  I am thinking something with a pattern.  Not sure until I find something.  Are you like that?  You will know it when you see it!

This area is in the back of my kitchen.  I love that faux fireplace that I have had for years.  I am thinking of putting that in my bedroom and opening up that space for maybe my iron bench or my wood fold out table.  Are you following so far lol!  Once I get all the change a roos done I will share.

This is the bench I am thinking of moving to that area in the above picture after we take down the faux fireplace to go in our bedroom.

This was where the iron bench was and this is the wood fold out table that one might just end up where my fireplace is coming down.  Still following along lol!

I will be playing with this area.  I have tried I think three times now to get this area to something I like.  It is part of the living room but in a weird spot.  I have tried chairs and now the bench and this fold out table and I still just do not feel it is right yet.

Which leads me to my new FB Market place piece that is going to probably end up in this space.

This is the piece I found on FB Marketplace that will be coming to live in my house.  I thought she was a unique piece and I would have more storage.   I like the wood and will probably sand it down to make it more neutral, natural and light in color.  I would have left it the color it is but it has too many bumps and bruises she needs a good refinish.

I am keeping my fingers crossed she will look good in that space.  When we get her all done and up I will share that with you.

Speaking of sharing.  I put peanuts out for my squirrels each morning.  Today I see we have a new visitor to the spot.  She is a cute little opossum.

Now Goldie and her three other friends that come each day will have to share their peanuts with Opossum.

I feed the squirrels peanuts and so far so good with doing this because it keeps them out of my bird feeder.
My bird feeder is hard for them to access but if I do not give them peanuts they find a way.  So far this has worked.

I will be back soon to show you the refinish on the new piece and how it looks in the new space.
Happy New Year
Have a wonderful week.
Hugs,
Kris

PS:  All of you that knew about Terry's surgery and kept good thoughts and prayers,  I want you to know he is doing great.
Terry had hernia surgery years ago and somehow a piece of the mesh they used to repair the hernia broke off and adhere its self to the  small intestines causing major blockage issues.   Terry was really sick and could not eat so they went in and removed the mesh and repaired that area.  He is home and doing well.  He went in for surgery the day after Christmas.  Happy he made it through our Christmas celebration before being in the hospital.

  4. Best news is knowing Terry is on the mend. He needs to be in tip top shape to be moving all that furniture around, lol. Girl, you did a 180° in buying that wall unit when compared to the smaller bench and table! You may want to add spinach to Terry's diet.🤣 Can't wait to see the next iteration of "Kris' Furniture Escapades".

  5. So glad to hear Terry is doing well. I know you are relieved to have him on the mend. I think the faux fireplace will be perfect in your bedroom. The big storage piece will be great to have! I hope it works in that spot. Awkward spaces can be hard to figure out so maybe this is what it needs. Fingers crossed! Have fun with your switcharoos.

  11. If you are like me, you have those "gorilla" brand leg pads for the bottom of your furniture. Yes, I am sliding tall or long things around here like a jigsaw puzzle.
I understand completely about the chair, and when you find it you will know.
I like all of your plans, you can get this sorted quickly.... and I am hopeful the result will be pleasing for a while anyway. Happy New arrangements.

  13. I love a good report! Thank you for sharing how Terry is doing.
Will you name your opossum? She is cute. ;-) Can you believe we have them way up here too!! Not many, but a few will come visit below our bird feeder.
I have been playing around with an area of our home to, our entry. I think I got it. When Jeremy came home yesterday he noticed right away and said, I like this.
