A Big Thank You and a little of This and That

Let's start with a big thank you to all of your caring hearts that had good wishes and prayers for me as I had a tumor taken off  my spine.
All the prayers were answered.  The surgery while 4 hours
long it was flawless.  My neurosurgeon did not find any surprises and was able to get all of the tumor.
They sent it into pathology but he is pretty sure it is a benign meningioma.  I should know more sometime this week.

Rush University Hospital is one of the top neurosurgery hospitals in the country.
I was able to get into the best neurosurgeon for spinal surgery.  He was amazing.
Now recovery begins and it will be a long journey to get back to normal. That is hard for me.  I am not a person that likes to be idle.

I am learning.  My body lets me know when I have done too much.
I have PT coming to my house 3 times a week for the next few months.
We are only 5 days out from surgery and I already am seeing a change.  If I do what  PT and doctors tell me I feel that I will get better in the next few months.

We have to let the spine return to the middle of my spinal canal and that takes time.  I am learning how to walk with a walker and do daily things with my OT and PT girls.

This was one of the views from my room.  The city of Chicago is beautiful at night.

I did do a little fall decorating before my surgery.  The trees behind us in the woods are beginning slowly to turn colors.

I moved some things around at the back of my kitchen area.  Wanted to add a little neutral fall there.

This wall needs something and I am on the hunt.  When I start to feel better I hope to venture out to some of my shops and find a unique piece for this wall.

As you could see with the wallpaper it is a creamy yellow.  I decided to paint the darker taupe TV cabinet and storage cabinet in the creamy yellow.  I also had Terry paint the architectural  piece above the TV cabinet.

Did the storage cabinet and the sign above it in the same paint.
We used a cabinet paint with a satin finish.  The paint color is
Tangle Wood Park by Sherman Williams Infinity.
The color was perfect with the new slipcovered sectional.

Thank you again for all the concern and caring hearts.  The power of prayer works.
Have a great week.
My granddaughter is going to come over this week and decorate my walker.  I am looking forward to that.

Hugs,
Kris
