New Kitchen Table and Chairs

Hello sweet friends.
I got my table and chairs done for the kitchen.  Since I no longer have the dining room set I thought this small space in the kitchen might work for a table and chairs.

This is the small table I had out in the garage for a long time.  It had the drop leaves.  We took those off.  The chairs had cane seats that had holes and were unraveling.

Terry removed the cane and made a wood seat.  Sorry forgot to get a picture of that.  Then I purchased seating cushion material and a black and white check fabric.

We painted the chairs and table white.

We then added the chair cushion material and fabric to the wood seat base Terry made.  We stapled the fabric to the back of the seat and then Terry screwed the piece into the frame of the chair seat.

Now I have a cute little table and chair set.  We can pull the table out more into the room when we sit to eat.  The chairs are much more comfortable to sit on with the new cushions instead of cane.
Now I am on the hunt for a cute runner or cute placemats.

Have a great rest of the week and wonderful weekend.

  1. KRIS! I somehow missed this yesterday but maybe you hadn't posted early. I usually do my blog visits early in the morning then get off the computer.

WELL DONE, once again! The size of the table is in perfect proportion for the kitchen and the chairs work really well. I love your choice of black and white and you pulled it all together! ENJOY my friend!!!

  22. It's darling and of course it's white! Love it! The checked seat cushions look great.. I can picture, for one way to decorate it, to have a cute checked tablecloth that fits the entire table, and hands over the edges a few inches.. maybe some lace around the edge. Would look so cute with those cushions. So many options and it will all look darling and be such fun. Those are the neatest chairs too! Marilyn
