New Slipcovered Chairs

Hello Sweet Friends.

I want to share with you my new slipcovers.

I usually have Lisa Harmon from Fabric 8 Slipcovers make mine but she was pretty busy and I decided to try a local slipcover place.  He did a great job and could get them to me fairly quickly.  I still love Lisa and her work but it was fun to find another person more local.

Here is the old set that came on the chairs I scored on FB Marketplace.

I really would have loved to keep both chairs in this room but with the new armoire for the TV it would hit right into the one chair.
Sooooo it is all good because I needed a new comfy office chair and one of these will do just great in my office.  Bye Bye old slipcovers and hello new ones.

This is the new slipcover for the wing back chair.  I love that he made the ruffle not touch the ground so you could see this chair's cute legs.  I think he did a great job on these chairs and was very reasonable.  I supplied the white cotton duck material I got on sale at JoAnn's Fabrics for $9 dollars a yard.  I just had to pay him his labor.  White cotton duck fabric is made to be washed a lot.  With whites that is a must.  With each wash the fabric gets softer.  It is a great fabric for slipcovers because of who soft and washable it is.

Keeping it real if you walked into my house right now you would not see this,  you would see a doggie blanket over the chair cushion and arms.  This is Buddy's neighborhood watch station and napping chair!

Ok now onto my office and the other chair.

I still have my Grace angel to watch over me in my office.

Here is the other chair in my office.  It is comfy with my squishy pillows to sit at my desk.

It was fun sharing my new slipcovered chairs with all of you.
This is my three in one area!  My office space.  My crafting cart with cards and wrapping and makeup.  You have to be resourceful when you live small.    You can also see my design assistants office and creative area under my desk.  I try to  manage my living space to work for everyday needs.
Have a good week.  Working on the new table and chairs for the kitchen.  Hope to have those to show you soon.

  1. The covers are so nice. I need to find someone to make a cover for out couch soon. I h ave been redecorating our living room, going from brown to blue. Your office is very nice and I like the doggie bed under the desk. Our Mandy would always lay at our feet no matter where we would be and we had a bed for her in each room.

  2. GOod morning dear Kris! YAHHHHHH!!!!!!! The slipcovers came out beautifully! Very nicely done and duck fabric is wonderful. A few years ago I had found a local upholster, a local woman who also just charged for her labor while I provided the fabric for a small settee. How fresh and crisp your home looks!

  3. Those look GREAT, Kris. He paid good attention to the detail of straight lines and nice gathering in the ruffles. How wonderful to find someone local to do the job! Good upholsterers are not easy to come by.

  4. He did a great job. It is SOOO hard to make slipcovers with anything that has a curved back-you have to be really good to do that--and he did it!!!! What a difference that makes.
Love your 'assistant's' work space! lol

  5. The fellow did an outstanding job on the slipcovers! The curve of the legs looks cute peeking out. Buddy's office looks like the ones my daughter's dogs Beaux and Dak had while she was working at home. These little four-legged assistants take their jobs seriously. Enjoy your day...hope there are no more outages for you. We are expecting thunderstorms here. xoxo

  6. These are beautiful and he did a great job. Small businesses need our support now more than ever.

I don't show one couch ever because it's covered with pads because Peanut and Reeses are dachshund diggers. Plus blankets and a pillow for them. Are they loved?

  10. Your chairs are beautiful, Kris. I really like the slipcovers; he did a great job. Your rooms are so pretty. Very uplifting, yet serene at the same time. I had to smile when I saw that second photo with your new slipcover and the sweet little table next to it. I have a table that's very similar. I bought it recently at a thrift store, and I'm in the process of painting it. Will show it soon on my blog. Anyway, it gave me a smile to see how similar are tastes are. I'm always inspired when I visit. Hugs, Nancy

  14. so gorgeous Kris, love those chairs. I envy your great pool of furniture to pick from in your area. Of course Buddy needs a perch so he can be in charge of the neighborhood. My house is strewn with cat beds and towels. Trouble is they pick a new spot to hide and lounge every few weeks. they keep me on my toes!

    1. I found the fabric on line and had them made. The company that I got the fabric from does make curtains and pillows. The company is Carousel Designs. Actually a baby bedding company but they have some beautiful pillows and curtains. Here is the link.

  22. Oh Kris - so adorable! And yes, he did a fabulous job!!! I have always wanted to learn how to do that but am entirely too lazy. LOL.

You may consider spraying Scotch Guard on them too - that helps protect the whites so nicely. Every little bit of protection helps I guess, huh?

  26. the chairs look great with their new attire. I am fond of cute legs on tables and chairs. Exposing them was a great choice.
Your rooms are light and inviting. I love the touches of blue that you are incorporating in you decor. For me it would likely be either the palest of pink or peach. But I do like blue also.
