Kindness Cost Nothing and Makes a Big Difference

Let me start by sharing this quote from the Dalai Lama.

Compassionate kindness is the most precious thing there is.  It is something that only we human beings can develop.  And if we have a good heart, a warm heart, warm feelings, we will be happy and satisfied ourselves, and others will experience a friendly and peaceful atmosphere.

This is a beautiful quote.
I feel too that kindness is one of the most precious gifts we can share with one another.  It costs nothing and is readily available at anytime for us to share.

I try each day to share a little kindness in some way.  Whether is is as simple as letting the person behind you in the grocery store line go before you because they only have one or two items and you have half a cart full.

I also like to do random acts of kindness throughout the year.

Most of the time they cost nothing and come from my heart.

Sending a card to someone that will least expect it. Wishing them a good day and telling them you were thinking about them is a small gesture for me but a big uplifting kindness to them .

Random Acts of Kindness give so much to someone else but it also comes back to give you so much more.

We all give of ourselves everyday in many ways.

We naturally share comfort and care when things arise in our lives,  but sharing kindness daily is good for the soul.

Kindness shared is the best gift you can give to others and yourself.

I hope after reading this you will find a spot in your day to share a smile, give a hug or say some nice words to someone.  You will see the smile, the hug or the thank you given back will change their day and yours.

I am starting to put together random acts of kindness.  I plan on mailing some unexpected little gifts to people I know that could use the help and might need a little cheer.

Hope you celebrate Random Acts of Kindness throughout the year but especially now as the holiday season is upon us.

Have a great week.
xoxo
Kris

  2. Kris, you are one of the kindest people I know! This post does not take me by surprise because I've been the recipient of one of your beautiful gifts of kindness. I still think of you when I see one of BreeBree and James Mason's toys in their nests. Truthfully, they don't play with toys. Too many years in a kennel before we found them. But they do use them as pillows! Thank you again, dear Kris.

  6. Good morning my dear friend - this is Anita! I just noticed that my comments are under anonymous! I don't know how to fix that....anyway, you are one of the kindest and most kindness-minded people I know online. Thank you for always being a great example of how taking that extra step toward making someone feel good is the way to live. THANK YOU!

  7. Yes this is such a fabulous idea, particularly in this challenging time where everyone seems to be edgy and quick to take offence. A little kindness goes such a long way to showing others that there is still goodness in this world and paying it forward is an excellent way to show it. Have a happy week! xoxoxo Anne from DD by Anne

  10. Beautiful post...you are so right...I often compliment someone on something they're wearing or even just a hello as I'm walking into a business...seems to take people by surprise which is sad to me sometimes. It's as if they've not been "seen" before and I love seeing the smile from them and an "oh, goodness, thank you". Not doing it for a thank you, just to see that smile from young or old. And it's free!!

  13. Morning Kris, what a great post and couldn't agree with you more. I think we all need that reminder........... that is how we can help change the world one act of kindness at a time. It truly is one of the best gifts we can give to someone........and it doesn't have to cost us anything unless we want it to..........
Hope you have a great day spreading kindness.
    Love and Blessings, Nellie

  15. Kindness takes many forms, whether offering a cup of coffee, allowing a person with only a couple items to go ahead in the checkout line, or simply a smile. All this goes a long way to make a difference in someone's day. We were in the checkout line at Meijer and the lady behind us had multicolored hair, lots of tattoos and piercings. Lots of folks would have avoided her but the Urban Farmer commented on her small purchases, saying "looks like lunch is ready". She became very animated and said that it was for her iguanas, showed pictures of them and told us she has five children. Come to find out she rescues animals, which is a great kindness in itself. I do believe that kindness was only one of our Savior's qualities and He has urged us to do the same. xoxo

  24. Wonderful post Kris! Yes.. kindness is so easy to give, and usually comes back at us twofold! I try to give little acts of kindness when I can. Your posts are always a reminder to me to do that! I too like to send cards or little gifts to people who may not expect it. I've had several RAK's done for me.. once at a burger drive through.. the person behind me paid! And at a grocery store, someone will let me in ahead of them (I do that too now and then) and once someone behind me paid for my entire basket! I was shocked and amazed. If everyone in this world would show more kindness and compassion, we would be in a much better place.. though I do believe most "normal" everyday people DO practice much more kindness than those in the government! THEY are the ones who need this reminder! Marilyn

  25. Kris, you are always thinking of others and spreading kindness and cheer. You always inspire me to do the same. Last week, when we went to get coffee the car in front of us has paid for ours. That's never happened to us before, what a lovely gesture. Of course, we continued the chain by paying for the people behind us. Now I've been trying to make a habit of it once a week. It feels good!! xo

  27. What an inspiring post - yes, it takes so little to make someone feel better. Living in an apartment complex I find ways to leave little "treats" for neighbors. But just saying "I like your coat" to a stranger in the grocery store can make someone's day. Costs nothing but is worth a million!

  29. This is so good, Kris. And so true. I think we often are so busy that we forget to extend kindness to those around us. It's not that we're unkind people, we just get distracted and focus inward instead of outward. I'm working more on being aware of others as much when I have a ton to do, as when I don't. Thanks for this post. Hugs.

  31. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago with HIV and have lived taking ARV and thought of having Herbal medicine to cure this disease completely. I wouldn't be able to bear Vomiting and my tongue would go white because of these diseases called HIV/Aids. I learned to live with it but I have definitely prayed and had hands laid on me, My friends at work knew about my HIV Status so on a faithful day my friend Hannah talk to me about this great man called Dr Itua From west African because my friend Hannah is from West African too she came to acquire degree here in South Carolina, I accepted the challenge and contacted Dr Itua Herbal Center...drituaherbalcenter@gmail.com also chats on Whatsapp Number.+2348149277967. Then he delivered his Herbal medicine to me which was labeled as Dr Itua Herbal Medicine Cure For HIV/Aids, I took it as he instructed. After two weeks I went to the test and I was tested Negative. I'm still writing on every blog site related to the following diseases such as HIV/Aids, Herpes Virus, Shingles, Hepatitis B/C, Because he cures this kind of disease.
