Kindness Matters
Thought I would take a minute to remind all of you that this is a great time to share Random Acts of Kindness. Especially now with all that is going on in our country.
Let me start by sharing this quote from the Dalai Lama.
Compassionate kindness is the most precious thing there is. It is something that only we human beings can develop. And if we have a good heart, a warm heart, warm feelings, we will be happy and satisfied ourselves, and others will experience a friendly and peaceful atmosphere.
This is a beautiful quote.
I feel too that kindness is one of the most precious gifts we can share with one another. It costs nothing and is readily available at anytime for us to share.

I like to do random acts of kindness throughout the year.
Most of the time they cost nothing and come from the heart.

Sending a card to someone that will least expect it. Not a text but an actual card in the mail. Wishing them a good day and telling them you were thinking about them is a small gesture for me but might be a big uplifting kindness to them .
Random Acts of Kindness give so much to someone else but it also comes back to give you so much more.
We all give of ourselves everyday in many ways.
We naturally share comfort and care when things arise in our lives, but sharing kindness daily is good for the soul.
Kindness shared is the best gift you can give to others and yourself.

I hope after reading this you will find a spot in your day to share a smile, open a door, pay for the person behind you in the Starbucks line or Just smile and compliment someone on their outfit, nail color, hair do etc.
I am starting to put together my yearly random acts of kindness. I plan on mailing some unexpected little gifts to people to share a little kindness that is unexpected. I send them anonymously so they don't know who sent it. The joy I get is they receive something they were not expecting and they do not feel they have to return the kindness to me but will pay it forward to someone else. That is the point to get someone to have someone else feel the joy they got when the gift arrived.
I am sharing a little gift that I will keep in my car and maybe when I go through the drive thru to get my Diet Coke I will give the person taking my order one.
Maybe in the grocery store I will take one in with me and share it with the cashier.
Sometimes surprising someone with a little act of love and kindness will make their day and also yours.
Little things can make a big difference in someone's day.
I filled these cute coffee to go cups with a Dunkin Donut gift card and some hot chocolates and tied them with ribbon.
A few cups had McDonald's gift card and Starbucks. A little variety of coffee and soft drink choices. Less than $10 you can make a sweet little kindness gift to give away.
What a fun way to kick off the holidays. The grand kiddos loved every minute.
The train like in the story took us to the
North Pole to meet Santa.
We had hot chocolate, singing and dancing waiters to serve us and of course because we all believe received a special bell. Lots of fun making sweet memories.
Have a great week. Hugs. Kris

Hi Kris, Oh my, what a fun trip. My boys loved the Polar Express story.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the ideas for the random act of kindness. I like the idea of surprising our cashier at the grocery store. :-)
Love, Carla
I do RAK year-round, too. Like you said, you can simply compliment someone in public - or smile and say hello as you pass by - doesn't have to cost anything! Right now, I've been donating to the local food pantries and shopping for Toys for Tots.
ReplyDeletePS - how sweet that you went to the Polar Express with your family! Your grandkids are so cute and getting so big.
DeleteKris, you have the best ideas! Thank you for sharing and encouraging others to be kind.
ReplyDeleteKris, you have one of the kindest souls I've ever met. I'm so grateful just knowing you. Such thoughtful gestures can truly make a person's day or even week.
ReplyDeleteI hope to take the Polar Express in the next year or two. I love that all of you got to experience it together. ❤️
You are a truly kind and thoughtful person Kris! This shows in so many ways, not just your RAKs. Beautiful photos of a very wonderful family experience. Hugs, Gilly (UK)
ReplyDeleteVery sweet and a brilliant reminder for this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy these last few weeks of the year, just wow, I love your Polar express adventure,. what fun!
Kris, the Polar Express looks like so much fun with the family and such a great holiday experience. I love that you are all wearing the same tops and a great photo with Santa. You are so thoughtful and the RAK makes a person feel so good and special. I'm glad we are blog friends! :D
ReplyDeleteKris, I love the photos and how fun as a family to take the Polar Express. You are a kind and thoughtful lady who looks for ways to show your kindness. This world would be a better place if we all did the same! I am blessed to share a friendship with you through blogging! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteKris, I love doing RAK's year round too. Your reminder and your own RAKs is wonderful! I love the little cards.. I'm going to make some to keep with me... and it's a great idea to keep little things in my car. There are many times when I wish I could give an "extra" thankyou to someone special or just to a friend or acquaintance! I've had RAKs done for me a few times in the past, and boy do we remember them! I still remembere when someone in front of me at Burger King paid for my meal! I remember when someone said my name was pretty! Just a few words and I still remember that! Boy.... kind words can sure lift someone up! I love your photo and going to the Polar Express must be a fantastic experience for the littles. Enjoy the upcoming holidays! Hugs.. Marilyn
ReplyDeleteKris, you have the biggest heart in the world and I am so lucky to have had your friendship over the years...to say nothing of the random gifts I find hiding in my mailbox!
ReplyDeleteI try to share at least one little random act of kindness every day....even if it is just complimenting someone on something that might seem small to them. I believe that we see God through other people's acts and demeanor.
You are always ahead of the game...lucky for all of us! Hugs- Diana
Kris, you have a heart of gold and so much kindness. Such a wonderful blessing to share with others. I love the little cups and gifts so sweet to do this and share with the world. Happy upcoming weekend. Hugs
