My obsession with baskets and This and That Spring Decor

Hi everyone.  It is starting to feel like spring here in Illinois.  We still are getting that mix of high and low temps but it is getting warmer.
My front door has Mr. Bunny to welcome everyone in.

I bought this topiary bunny from Walmart some time ago.  Last year I wanted one and they sold out quickly.  When I saw them come out at Walmart I grabbed one.  My good friend told me about how she saw them take this bunny and put it in a basket with a wreath around the base.  I loved her so I got one of my baskets and put the wreath of greens around it with adding some faux flowers and carrots.  Gave him a sweet Easter bow.

This was the bunny before I put him in a basket.  It looks so much more welcoming with him in the basket.  My sweet post and bird cage has spring vines and bunnies and lights at night.

I am not sure what it is about me and baskets but I love them.  I have so many I thought I need to put them out on display.  I figured the kitchen cabinet top would be a great place.

The only place I have farmhouse/primitive decor is in my kitchen.  Recently I found this sweet Hometown Baking sign which fit in so well above my cabinets.

I have my bunny and cabbages on the old vintage scale.  I have had this watering can for a long time and always love putting in different flowers for different times of the year.

I showed you the cute dishwasher magnet which feels like spring for the kitchen.

I feel like Spring has sprung in my kitchen.

In my entry way I have spring popping up with some decor.  My bunny lamp is center stage.

Of course the vintage umbrella and faux flowers bring spring to the entry way.

I feel I accomplished a French farmhouse spring in the entry.

In the back of the kitchen I did some spring.  My mannequin and the twigs with bird nest bring a little spring.

On the buffet I have my easter bunnies and spring flowers.

I am so happy we are almost out of winter and Spring is trying hard to stay with us.
I do see some of my
daffodils and tulips starting to poke their heads out in the yard.

We are having lots of beautiful days mixed with colder winter like days.  I will take the new buds coming up and seeing Robins and red wing black birds coming back to Illinois.  Those are signs that Spring has sprung here in Illinois.

One more up and down tempertures in April and then hopefully beautiful and consistent weather.

Have a great week.
Hugs,
Kris

  1. Wow Kris, I love how beautiful you decorated for spring in your home. All of the flowers look gorgeous and I do like the baskets in the kitchen. You make everything look so nice for each season. Where do you shop for your flowers as they look so real?
I hope you have a nice weekend.

  3. Kris, spring has definitely sprung in your lovely home. The flowers, bunnies and baskets are so lovely. Years ago I had quite a few baskets when I was in my country phrase. They look fabulous above the cabinets. Your buffet looks so welcoming as is your front porch with the large bunny and wreath. Enjoy your spring time decor. XO🐇🥕🐇

  4. More beautiful Easter and Spring additions to your gorgeous home Kris! We have been having such up and down temperatures here too - today it is very sunny but quite cold, unless you are travelling in the car and then it's beautiful! Gilly (UK)

  5. Spring has definitely sprung at your cottage! Love it all. We hit 100 degrees on Wednesday and high on Saturday is suppose to be 60! Crazy weather. My tulip tree was just loaded with blooms and then we had a hard freeze and it's just full of dead brown buds. Have a great weekend! Judy Clark

  7. Everything looks lovely!! I've see a lot of those topiary bunnies around lately, Kris, but none have been displayed as charmingly as yours. You take the cake!! Our front stoop is in shambles at the moment, but I think my back porch could use a bunny topiary! Haha...maybe I'll have to visit Walmart and see if they still have any hanging around! Happy Spring my friend!

  9. I always love coming here and enjoying the beauty of everything you do. I am lucky enough to have seen some of your homes in person (3 of them, I think-lol). You always outdo yourself every season. I don't think you realize that while you are doing it for yourself it spreads joy to others, too.
Got to check to see if there is a link to the dishwasher film. I missed that before.
    Hugs and love- Diana

  16. Kris, your home is spring perfection! The way you dressed up the bunny topiary is such a good look, and all the baskets are not only utilitarian, but good-looking too. We just got back from another trip to my sister Jackie's - she has a huge stock of baskets! Her estate sale is going to be a picker's dream.

  17. Your welcoming Spring decor puts a smile on my face, Kris. The entrance is darling with the bunny topiary pipped in a basket and your birdcage. All your kitchen decor is beautiful. I’ve been a collector of baskets myself and have them interspersed in my decor, too. You have so many lovely touches of inspiration. I hope Spring comes and stays for you. I’ve been seeing robins and redwing blackbirds in my little yard. Have a great week! XO
