Spring Beginnings

Here in Illinois we have been getting some little teases of spring.  We are still pretty far out from seeing life coming back.  These days of spring like weather gives us hope spring will be here soon.

Even though old man winter is still here I have been spring cleaning and bringing out some spring decor.

When I was grocery shopping these pretty tulips jumped into my cart.  It is the little things like a bunch of tulips you bring home that make a little spring happen indoors.

Love my framed out dining room window.  Pretty soon I will be able to see the green leaves and flowering trees back behind the house start to bloom. That will be glorious.

Ha Ha that one bunny on the right looks like he is leaning in to say Hey make sure you get me in the shot!

I found this noodle board on Amazon.

I love that it covers up my stove burners to keep them clean and it also works as a cutting board too.

I ended up painting this chair white so I could move it to the back area of my kitchen.  Just fits better here.

My mannequin also moved to the back of the kitchen.  She fit much better there.

I scored this chandelier that matches the dining room and living room chandeliers.

It is nice to start thinking about spring being around the corner.
We still could get snow until May but I am hopeful with the little teases of spring weather  we will see spring sooner than later.

All of you that are in the south and out west, I am so jealous that you are seeing life coming back into your gardens.  I can't wait for it to happen here.

Have a wonderful new week.
Hugs,
Kris

  1. Isn’t it wonderful how a bunch of pretty flowers can add cheer to our lives? Your home looks so pretty, Kris! Your framed out window is such a perfect addition to your dining room. Your noodle board is so lovely! Now I want one! Have a great week, my friend!

  2. Kris, I don't think I commented on your post of the framed window, but that is spectacular. Every time you redo a corner, a wall, a piece of furniture - I always think, that's it, that looks great. And then you change it again. I really like the dining and kitchen areas now. I looked for tulips this week but the grocery didn't have any. My favorite local flower farmer did, though, at that winter market I went to. That noodle board looks great. I like how you have the natural woods and twigs sprinkled through your creams and whites. A great look. We are seeing more signs of spring, and this week is supposed to have some 70° days after a few days of rain, so Ill be needing to get outside and start doing some pruning real soon. Have a greatvweek.

  4. I like the mannequin and chair in that spot. Love the pillow with the houses - very sweet. The noodle board is a nice touch too! The tulips are such an happy yellow and your bunnies are adorable. We are having late April weather now. Everything is budding, blooming, leafing out here. Fingers crossed we don’t get another freeze. Enjoying this weather while it lasts. Hope you get an early spring as well.

  5. It's all beautiful. I love the mannequin, she's very stylish. The noodle board is great. I showed John. He's right, it's not realistic for us. I love it! All our snow is gone. I'm thinking winter may be finished. In NJ you can never tell. The weather changes in an instant.

    Hugs,

    Cindy

  9. I enjoyed the spring tour. :-) The tulips made me smile.
I like the chair, I like that you painted it.
We are warming up this week, but next week it looks like we might get cold again. Ol'Man Winter is not going to leave us yet.

  10. So many pretty pictures of your charming cottage, Kris. It looks lovely, infused with spring! I'm waiting for the real thing here, too, but until it shows up outside, I'll be adding what I can- and faking it - inside! Haha!! xo

  13. I still think one of the greatest things you have done to your home is that dressed up window in the dining room. That just "makes" that room!
Like you, I am really looking forward to spring this year. It has been a really long winter for us here in the Midwest. I know you are usually a bit ahead of us with the sun and warmer weather.
The board on your stove.....is it a gas stove? I would really love to use one of those but not sure if they work on gas stoves. All I'd need is for the old boy to start a fire under it....lol
I need to get an email off to you soon. Hugs- Diana

  15. As usual, I am late. The garden is keeping us busy, cleaning and weeding. I love the way you move things around, I used to do that myself. Everything looks so beautiful and pristine. I love your style, Kris and how you stick to it! Hopefully you will see spring sooner than later, my friend!

  17. The flower arrangements are nice, the stick bunnies not so much...they look more like skeleton bunnies for Halloween.

  18. Hi Kris, I totally enjoyed my visit and your spring tour. You're home is lovely. I tried zooming up on the one photograph that off to the right side shows an old scale with a bunny in it but for some reason my phone wouldn't blow the photo up. Anyway, love your bunnies and love your decor. It's not too early to think of spring it's right around the corner. Have a blessed week.
