Garden Bike Time / Unique Condo

A little reminiscing today with my past garden bikes.  So happy it is time again in the garden to have a bike to display all the pretty for summer.

Funny story about this bike.    I had my fall decor on this bike and one day I came home and the burlap ribbon and fall decor was gone.  I thought who would come by and steal my fall decor off my bike.  Our neighborhood was nice and safe.

I thought to myself wow someone must have really thought my ribbon and faux flowers were so pretty they needed to take them.

Winter came and the big tree where this bike is parked eventually lost all its leaves.  I looked up in the tree one day in late fall. All the leaves were down and I saw my burlap ribbon and some of the fall flower decor spun around a squirrels nest!!!!!  OMG!!!! Apparently it was not someone in the neighborhood stealing my decor.   It was the squirrel!  She had the prettiest nest on the block.

This is my garden bike for this year.  It is painted with blue and white flowers and has a cute flower basket.  All my past garden bikes have real flowers but this year's bike has Faux Flowers.  We back up to the woods and have all kinds of wildlife that likes to eat garden plants and flowers.  They have not wanted to eat the faux flowers!!

My petunia bags are doing great.

My hydrangeas I planted this year are also doing great.  They are getting so big and bright in color.  They like lots of water and need very little sunshine so they do well here under the shade of the tree.

I planted more knock out roses.  The two big plants in the front have a lot of buds that should open soon.  My two plants from last year near the white fence are blooming early.

You are probably wondering why I am showing you this old victorian Lutheran Church.  Well..... It is an old church in Michigan that got bought and made into unique condo's.
We just got back from Tennessee.  What a gorgeous place.  All of you or I guess I should say "you all" have a beautiful state to live.

We also did a discovery trip to North Carolina a few weeks ago and found some possibilities.

My daughter, SIL and two grand girls live here in Illinois and my other daughter and SIL and grandson moved recently to Michigan on Lake Michigan.  As most of you know all those quaint towns along the lake are our favorites and we have spent many weekends there in the summer especially.  It is only about an 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive all along the lake from where we live now.

I have been struggling with thinking about moving away for retirement. One option we are thinking about is moving to Michigan in that area we love.  We would be 1 to 2 hours from both girls.  Right in the middle.
This could be an option if we get a cute little lake cottage for Spring, Summer and Fall and then become snowbirds in the winter months and go to different places with a warmer winter.
This way we are not committed to one area in the south.

Still waiting on the powers that be to figure out what will be next for Terry.  Then we can make some decisions.

In the meantime I am recovering from some  minor foot surgery.  Hobbling around for a few days.

Hope you all have a beautiful week.
Hugs,
Kris
