Cottage Garden Sign

Happy Weekend.  I wanted to share my petunia bags this year from my garden.  The colors are so vibrant.

This is how the petunia garage bags and sliding door petunia bag looked a couple of weeks ago.

This is how they look now.  I feed them once a week with food I buy at the nursery.  I was using miracle grow in the past and it was good but I have to tell you just the growth and colors in the past few weeks using this food has been amazing.  The colors have become so pretty and vibrant.  I have a bag on each side light of my garage.  I have been training them to grow up over the lights.  So far so good.

The petunia bag on my sliding door is filling out so nicely too.  With them doing this well already I know they are going to be huge by the end of the summer.  Just have to watch for budworms again this year that ate my petunia bags last year at the end of the summer.

I had this cottage garden sign from years ago.  I gave to a good friend when we moved.  I was watering her flowers this past week while she was out of town.  I saw this tucked away in her garage by her garden stuff.  So...... I asked her if she was going to use this piece and she said no that I could have it back.  SCORE!!!

It is
handprinted on an old cabinet door.

The rose bushes I planted are beginning to get buds and my hydrangeas are filling in beautifully.

All the faux flowers are holding up well.  No critters seem to interested in my garden this year.  Yay!!

Have a great weekend.
Working on some decor shuffle and hope to share that soon.
Hugs,
Kris

  2. It is hard to tell what is real and what is faux because it is beautifully done. I know the bike/surrounding bike has faux flowers...they are perfect. Those bags are amazing. I have to start using my Miracle Gro on things. I will use it until it is gone and then look for the stuff you are using now.
What fun you got your sign back. Do you remember the Guest Cottage sign you gave me? Well, I have had it upstairs in the 'girls' room' area and now that we bought that little cottage the sign will be moving to a new home. Still one of my favorite pieces I have and I think of you every time I look at it.
Beautiful day here today but it is supposed to rain every day next week....ugh....

  3. Wow, the petunias have gone wild! Sometimes I get a little lazy, have to admit, not wanting to drag out the fertilizer and mix it up. But you've inspired me, for sure. I've been doing some more planting this week, now need to do the fertilizing. Cute cottage sign! Happy Sunday, Kris. Today is Symphony Sunday at the university down the street, where the symphony puts on a day long event of free music. I'll be keeping vigilance so no yayhoos park on our property, and may attend part of the program. It's a beautiful campus.

  11. Kris, it's all stunning! Wow..... no difference that I can see between the faux and real.. but maybe closeup you can...... such a gorgeous "curb appeal" as others said. That lounge chair is so inviting too. What a wonderful style you have! I'm so envious of all those hanging bags. I am going to try to find that fertilizer. I use Miracle Grow (when I think of it!) but usually only once during the summer. Having such a beautiful yard takes alot of care and tending, for sure! Hope you had a great weekend! xoxo Marilyn

  12. I just am in awe at those petunia bags, Kris! Your garden area is amazing. I have Jack’s bloom booster which is 10-30-20 that my nursery recommended and said that it could be used everyday. Your blooms are thriving! Have a happy week doing your shuffling. xo

  18. WOW!! Your flowers always amaze me. Do you get the bags already planted with the petunias or do you plant them? I've never seen the bags here. They are gorgeous! Its been right at 100 here for the last few days so my flowers will probably not last too long. I have some fake ones that are beautiful. LOL. Enjoy your gorgeous yard! Judy Clark
