Summer She Shed

Happy New Week Everyone.
I worked on my she shed this weekend.
Oh boy it was a challenge with no shops or stores open to find cute accessories.
Had to shop my house a little bit to decorate.
With downsizing with the purchase of this smaller home I did not have a lot of things in storage or around the house to work with for decor.
I gave it a good shot but it will be a work in progress.
When the shops and Home stores return I hope I can find cute decor to add.

My flowers are starting to fill in nicely.  Lots of rain lately for them.  I got my lounger ready for me to relax and get some sunshine.

I love the dutch door that Terry made out of the existing door.  Lets air flow in and out.

The three piece bird and flowers canvas was another purchase from Target.

I hung some sheers I was able to get at Target and just have them puddle onto the floor.  The rug is from Target too.  Behind the curtains are the three hen's cubbies when this use to be a chicken coop.  I have baskets behind there now for storage.
Found these sweet little baskets at Target and they fit  nicely in the cubbies.

I had this cute little wrought iron garden table.  It fit perfectly inside next to my chair.

I hung some of my garden hats and the post box on this wall.  The postal box will hold some of my magazines.

Lots of color on the outside of the she shed.  More of my neutrals on the inside for now.  I will continue to play with my she shed as more shops and stores begin to open up here in Illinois.  We still have a ways to go before we get to that phase of shelter at home.  Hope all the perennials planted will begin to spread out and fill in.  We are going to be putting mulch down today in all the garden beds and then summer can begin!

My sweet lounge chair is calling my name since there is some sunshine today.
Have a super week.

  9. I can’t believe I’m the first to comment on this Kris! I predict you’ll receive tons of comments and many of them will echo my sentiments which is the shed is PERFECT just as it is❤️. Honestly, I love everything about it. It looks like target was a good place for you to find some lovely items, but I totally get what you mean about your favorite shops and the fun you will no doubt have adding to the shed.

    I’m so jealous!!!

  18. KRIS!!!!!

It is looking so cozy and perfect in there! I think you did a great job shopping your own home and pulling it all together. That Dutch door is so fun. How I'd love to have one somewhere here but our mosquitos are relentless and would find any way to fly into the house. This is fabulous and your blues and white are the perfect combination. MUCH LOVE!

  19. Hi Kris,
If that ol' chicken coop had a name, I'd call it, "Rags to RICHES":-)

  21. So cute! You did an amazing job "dressing" the she shed even without the home stores being open. It sure is a far cry from a stinky chicken house! Your flowers are already looking beautiful. That lounger sure looks inviting. Love the fire plug in the bed by the fence. Enjoy your week. Looks like warmer temps are here to stay. xoxo

  24. It is so adorable! It has rained relentlessly here and still overcast, so we may be in for more. Everyone will want a she shed like yours! Even when the stores open, I'm not shopping in them. As a senior, I will buy groceries during senior hour and that's it. Everything else will be purchased online probably until they get a decent vaccine and that may be several years. I'll wait.

  28. Kris-You did a fantastic job--as always!! I think it is especially great considering you had to work with what you could pull in and not have a lot of places to shop. Can't wait to see more and more. With IL summers you might have to have Terry install an AC unit. lol
Have a good week-will catch up with you soon- xo Diana

  30. Oh Kris - I LOVE love, love it all! Considering that you have limited access to new cute and pretty items, you have worked wonders on it. It looks so very beautiful, and I love what Terry did to the door - you will find it so useful to be able to just have the top half open, on cooler days. Your flowers have settled in really well. Hugs, Gilly x

I think that you put your all heart in building it! I love such cosy places, it makes me feel calm! I don't have such place but in front of my house an area with bench and beautiful flowers around it. This year I have planted there lilies (especially these ones https://gardenseedsmarket.com/lilium-lily-tigrinum-bulb-tuber-root.html which are so so beautiful) ! And I have to say that spending time in this place makes me feel so good, when I am tense, have a hard week it makes me relaxed!

  41. Kris, this just proves that we never get too old to want a pretty playhouse outside! I can't believe you have created such a gloriously beautiful little house! Prettier than any magazine one I've seen already. That chandelier and the rug and those bird panels! And your Dutch door makes it an enchanted place from the very first. You never cease to amaze me and I know we can look forward to seasonal touches. I'm already excited about seeing how it will look for Christmas!

  42. You and Terry worked magic on that chicken coop.

How are the flowers attached to the back of the bike? I have to move my bike, for now, because a tree is being cut down. I'm not sure if I'll put it in the same place. But I do know that I want to have flowers on the back like you have.

We're open now and I'm looking forward to getting out for an afternoon of vintage market shopping! I know you'll be having fun out here!
