A little Christmas in the Kitchen

Hello Everyone.  Happy New Week
Finding Joy in getting out my holiday decorations.

I got out my sweet little birds all dressed up for the winter months.  I added two cute white trees and my cake platter with a sweet feather wreath and my little Angel my friend Cil made for me last year.

Isn't she just the sweetest with her little bird.

I love these birds that I got from Target a few years ago.  They just make me smile.

They are so pretty on my counter top in the kitchen at night.

I have most of my holiday decor up.  Been tweaking here and there but for the most part it is all up to enjoy.  I will put up another post of my tree this coming week.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We enjoyed the lake house and being together.  It was really nice.  I missed my mom but I know she was looking down on us and enjoying that we were able to still get together.

Happy Decorating and getting read for Christmas.  It is the downhill slide now.  This time of year goes too fast.  I am enjoying those twinkling lights at night.

  2. Love those cute birds and angel! We are putting our tree up on Wednesday I think. Normally we put it up Thanksgiving weekend but we have carpet installers coming on Tuesday to install new carpet in our three bedrooms and I worry they would knock it down carrying carpet in and out. How do you like your butcher block counters? Are they hard to keep clean?

  5. The little birds dressed up in their winter finery are so dang cute! Target has so many cute little ornaments, I wish I could go now. My daughter has said that ours is a hot mess right now, not ever rightly stocked and grumpy people tired of the long lines. Sad.

Keep up the decorating, Kris! I need to get motivated!

  6. So pretty and so YOU!! Got my tree up but not all decorated yet. Am trying to wade thru all of these bins with decorations. Not going to use all of them but have to go thru to decide. Glad your Thanksgiving was loved. Have a great week.

  8. Kris, your little winter birds are so danged cute I am grinning from ear to ear just seeing them. (You know I love birds too so it really touches a hug chord in me.)
Love love love - I don't think I could get anything done in my kitchen with those cuties watching me. And your angel from Cil? I mean seriously, is that the most adorable thing ever or what????

Enjoy your Advent - you are right, it goes super fast.

I am almost done - had a change of thoughts on my wee tree, once I finish it I will do a home tour. This time I WILL. I sure let autumn go without one. Just couldn't find the energy. I am stoked for Christmas though. Hugs!!!!

  10. Good morning dearest Kris!

I am glad to hear that you had a lovely time at the lake cottage. Relaxation and beauty is what we all crave. Like you, I'm enjoying some older items I got from Target a few years ago too! Every night, I feel like a kid again when all my lights go on...I take a tour of my own home and just sit and enjoy the lights. I have these darling metal houses that were ornaments that I got from Target. I just have them sitting on my window sills but they bring back so many memories of childhood Christmases....I don't even want to go to bed because I just want to stay up and watch the stars and lights.

  16. Loving your decor Kris. But I haven't seen anything that you do that I have not liked! Gotta chuckle out your "tweaking". Marty told our girls, "Your mama will be tweaking, moving things around, adding and taking off on Christmas morning". SO TRUE! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  17. As always Kris, beautiful decorating, it doesn't matter what time of the year. The angel is sweet with her little bird and your bird collection is adorable. I've not started yet, I've thought about it, but this morning I worked outside for almost 2 hours. Still have more to do, my tropical cottage gardens are a jungle. Enjoy your lovely Christmas holiday and decorations ~ FlowerLady

  20. I love those little birds...still have the ones you sent me. :) And your angel is so sweet with her little birdie friend. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the lakehouse - I know it had to have been hard knowing your mom was supposed to be there.

I got my decorations out and all decorated. I'm going to hang on to each day as fully as I can! It does go too fast and I wish it wouldn't. I love the lights and music and baking....all of it! Have a wonderful first week of Christmas month.
    hugs,

  24. Kris, You've inspired me. I spend so much time in the kitchen (and the bathroom) that I've decided to do a cheerful Christmas vignette to cheer me up. Love your Christmas birds. Sandra
