Kitchen shelves switch a roo

This is where it all began.  This cabinet was coming down.

Then we had this YIKES!

I had these chippy fabulous corbels for open shelves.

I liked the open shelves but it just was not quite what  I had in mind.

So we moved the corbels and shelves over the stove.

I like them better over the stove.

Now where the open shelves use to be I hung this salvage piece with hangers.

Now I think I like the openers with the shelves moved over by the stove area.

Sometimes it takes me a few tries to get it just the way I want it.

One thing I know for sure is one DIY always leads to another!

Hope you all had a great Easter.
Have a great week ahead.

  1. I love the shelves and corbels over the stove!!! Sometimes it takes me a few tries to get things just right too.

  2. I love it. Is the plant in the silver tea pot real? I love that display. :-)

  3. That's what always scares Trip with DIY because, yes, one DIY always leads to about twenty more around here! I love what you did with the shelves over the stove and the salvage pice with hooks to the right of your sink. Everything looks so great, Kris! Happy belated Easter!

  4. Hi Kris! I love how you don't give up and keep trying until you get the look you want. Your shelf change up looks beautiful, especially the sink area. So unique and peaceful looking. You & Terry come up the most unique ideas! Jane

  5. It is all looking great Kris. Happy Week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  6. The shelves over the stove look great! But what happens when you cook, how do you keep the cooking "gunk"/grease that comes off the pots and pans from cooking, off the shelves?

  7. I love how open this is. Very pretty new look! Have a great week!! xoxox

  8. Hi Kris! OH good, then I'm not the only one who tries one thing then has to analyze it, live with it then change it! I do like our shelves above the stove. Everything looks crisp and bright for SPRING!

  9. I like it, too, Kris. I think it makes the area around the sink/fridge look much more open and expands the area visually. Of course, taking that cabinet down was genius to begin with. Now...what's next? lol. I know you are on to some other project already!

  10. I love the new look, Kris!! Those shelves look fabulous over the stove and I love all the silver accents you've added. They really make your shiny appliances pop and the wallpaper stand out. The room is amazing...and now think of all the fun accessory shopping you can do each season, to fill those new spaces with new decor! Hahaha!! xxoo

  11. I like the way the shelves look over the stove. The hook looks so nice with the spring flowers and pitcher. I know you will have fun with decorating the shelves. Enjoy the week Kris.

  12. Kris, the shelves are perfect over the stove! It is not unusual to have to adapt when things just don’t seem right. The switch is amazing. I hope you are enjoying some spring weather!

  13. I love what you've done with your kitchen! Either way, those shelves are perfection! xo Kathleen

  14. we're in process of finishing up our white kitchen. i'm leaving here filled with inspiration and motivation tonight, Kris!

  15. Love the new look. Sorry I have been MIA. You always get it right in the end!! You have so many goodies. Hugs

  16. Hi Kris,
Love the new things you did in your kitchen, it all looks so elegant and beautiful.
Great job as always. Hope this finds you doing well. Once Easter was over I have
been in catch up mode from all the things I put on the backburner from the end
of February till Easter, so finally catching up, next I want to attack my closet,
hopefully soon. Hope yall had a lovely Easter!
    Blessings, Nellie

  17. Sometimes it just takes a few tries to get it exactly where we want it. hugs, Laura

  18. Kris, it always looks good to me no matter where you put things. It does look great now so it is my new favorite place for you to put something! Happy Spring..xxoJudy
