Witches Girlfriend Party Beginnings

Every year I throw a Girlfriend Party for my bff's and my two daughter's bff's.  It is a fun night to share friendship, good food and drink and lots of fun games and prizes.
This year's theme is Gather Witches.
I am having everyone come in their own version of a special witches hat.
There is a contest on who can come up with the best decorated witches hat.

Above is the gift bags going home with the each witch at the end of the night.
I thought I would share what is inside the gift bag and also some prizes and favors.
I want to show you that between the Dollar store and TJ Maxx and HomeGoods you can make beautiful gifts and prizes all for under $10 dollars.  Follow along and I will show you.

Here are 21 gift bags done and ready for the girls to take home.  Terry and I share this bedroom as both of our office area.  I am kind of invading his office space with all the stuff for the party!

Inside the gift bags is a makeup bag and inside is a satin pillow case and Lavender pillow spray.  Satin pillow cases are supposed to be great for sleeping and helping to prevent getting wrinkles and better on your hair.

The satin pillow cases came in a set of two from HomeGoods for $6.99 for 2.  The pillow spray I ordered online from the Dollar Tree for a $1.25 each.  I was a little worried for that low of a price how this spray would smell.  I was surprised how nice and soft the lavender scent is.  It is a great pillow spray for falling asleep.

I loved everything about  these girl gang bags I ordered on line.  Each bag cost $5.  The bags have the most wonderful definition of girl gang on them and the fabric is nice and heavy weight with a zipper that works well.  These can be used for makeup or whatever you want to pack them with.
To recap:  Girl Gang Bags $5,  Satin Pillows 2 for 6.99 and Lavender pillow spray $1.25.  So the girl gang bags filled came out to just a little less than $9.  Score!

Also inside the take home bags is some cute witch candy I found at HomeGoods and Marshalls.

The witches brew candy corn mix was $4.99 a bag and the What's Up Witches chocolate covered pretzels were $6.99.  Loved the sayings on the bag and perfect for a witch party gathering.

I also made a favor for each place setting.  I found these cute witches boots at the Dollar Tree for $1.25 and each one has a $1 lottery ticket and a halloween shaped Kit Kat or Reeses for just a few cents.  The ribbon is from HomeGoods 4 on a card for 3.99.  I got 10 bags wrapped off from each card.  Comes out to just under 25 cents for the ribbon to tie off the favors.

Each favor cost about $3 finished.  Cute and fun and not expensive for the place settings.

We do an exchange game with lottery tickets each girl brings to the party.  We limited the scratch off tickets to $15.  You can do any denomination adding up to $15.  I did a couple of $5 dollar tickets and a $3 and $2 dollar tickets to add up to $15.  You are supposed to wrap them up to look cute and pretty.  I added that cute Pez witch and tied mine off in a clear bag with witches hat stickers also from the dollar store.

I am going to redo my garage into a witches dining room.  These cute witches boots with faux candles that light will be going on the tables for centerpieces.  Found the witch candle holder boots at HomeGoods for $12.99.  The candles also from HomeGoods three in a package for $7.99.

I have a lot of prizes this year for all the games and contest we have at the party.  I thought I would share a few with you to show you can give a great prize for not a lot of money.  This fall diffuser and Hocus Pocus candle together were less than $10.  The candle and diffuser smell great.  This will be a great prize for the gal that loves her home to smell wonderful for Fall.

This prize is a platter and knife and Carmels.  The platter was $4.99 at HomeGoods and the Carmels in a cute gift bag were $4.99 and the spreader came in a set of three for $2.99 at HomeGoods.  Another wonderful prize for a fall lover for less than $10.

This towel and soap dispenser are both from HomeGoods.  The cat soap was $3.99 and the hand towel with monogramed witche's hat came three in a package for $12.99 at HomeGoods.  This cute bathroom halloween/witch decor prize was again less than $10.

We are all big Sunday football fans here in Chicago.  Even with our Bears not doing so hot out of the gate this season.  We still support our team.
There is one person that will remain nameless (Diana) is a GreenBay Fan.  Even with her being a fan of our arch rivals we let her come to the party because she is so much fun.
This prize is oven mitt $6.99 and Towell Set $7.99 for three kitchen towels.  This was a tiny bit over the $10 mark but such a great prize.

I got a couple of these sweet little candy dish ghosts.  He was too adorable to pass up.  They had two at my HomeGoods.  Each was $5.99 and I added some treat or treat candies and tied him off.  Another fun prize for under $10.

This is probably one of my favorite prizes out of all the prizes.  I am not sure you all know this but I have a little addiction issue with shopping at HomeGoods and TJ Maxx's.  When I find a HomeGoods shopping addiction group meeting I will be the first to attend lol!
This prize has a gift card to shop HomeGoods and this cute pen/list with that adorable saying YES YOU NEED A CART!!!! especially when you shop at HomeGoods.

These two prizes were both under $10 to make up.  A lot of my daughter's friends have little kids that still go to the pumpkin patch.  The pumpkin Frame will make a great gift for one of them after visiting the pumpkin patch and taking pictures.  The other prize is a cute pumpkin candy dish and I put in a cute bag of fall harvest candy corn mix.  Both prizes for way under $10.

This is an easy and quick prize to make up.  I got these paper coffee cups in a package of 8 for $3.99 at HomeGoods.  I added a $10 Starbucks gift card and tied it off.  A good prize for possibly the Starbucks pumpkin latte fan!

That is a few of the creative prizes I have for the party.  We do a Saran Wrap ball game with prizes inside and LCR and NoNameGame and of course our lottery scratch off exchange game.
All the games are fun and fast and easy to play.  You can be eating, drinking and conversing and stay in the games.  If you do not know these games you can google each of them.  We play these games at the girlfriend parties and we also play these games at our family holiday gatherings.  They are good for all ages to play.

Here is an inspiration picture off of Pinterest of a witch made out of an old mannequin.

This is another witch inspiration.  I will show you my creation after she is finished for the party.  Mine is going to be on a large dress form vintage mannequin.  I have collected some old witch pieces to dress her.  She will be attending the party in full style.

I ordered these backdrop party curtain to hang around the whole garage.  I want to make the garage feel very much like a witches den.

I also ordered these curtain lights to hang on the front of the black curtains around the room.  I have witches hats that light and also some that do not that will hang from the ceiling.  I found a witch shower curtain and some great garland to transform my bathroom into a witch  bathroom theme.
When I get the party ready in the garage and bathroom I will take pictures to share.
My tables will be wrapped in cute table clothes with cute centerpieces made with the witches boots I showed earlier.

Have you ever seen the cupcakes for baby reveal parties that have pink or blue sprinkles inside the cupcakes to determine the sex of the baby to be.  Well,  I am having cupcakes with upside down witch picks you can see above.  The cupcakes will have black or white sprinkles inside.  When you bite into the cupcake it will let you know if you are a good witch or bad witch!  If your cupcake chosen by you has black sprinkles then you are wicked bad witch.  If your chosen cupcake has white sprinkles then you are like Glenda the good witch of the North.
It will be fun to see what each girl reveals with her cupcake.

This was a long post and I just showed you a scratching of the surface of things for the party.

I am going on a girls trip with a good friend at the end of this month for a few mental health days away.  When I get back it will be time for the Witch Party the first weekend in October.

We are having summer weather here in Illinois and it looks to continue for
a while.  I am hoping with having the party the first part of October it will be nice weather to be outside that night.  It will give all of us witches more room to eat drink and be witchy in comfortable fall evening weather.

I will be back to share the witches den created for the party.  There will be broom parking for free lol!

Have a great new week.
Hugs,
Kris
